I think some of the wheel hop is caused from the wheel moving front to back because the control arm bushings allow the arm to do this. This may be just as important as controlling up and down shock movement and motor mount stiffness. This traction bar should effectively make the control arm bushings much stiffer. When older American cars first went to coil spring rear suspensions I remember witnessing the rear wheel moving front to back at the strip.

In my experience thats exactly what happens, you can really see it threw the 60Ft. Wondering if anyone has come across front bushings for the 1.5L Colt A-arms. Some nice Prothane bushings would really help out.

Front polyurethane bushings are available through Pedders in Australia. The shipping will kill ya, but if you can get several guys together it wont be too bad. I bought enough for 6 cars (front and back of the control arm) and they ran about $100 per car. Not exactly cheap, but not too bad. Dont ahve the part numbers anymore, but if you search, I thought I posted them a while ago.

I would be interested in these traction bars if someone can make them for not too much money. Ive had many friends who swear by these bars who have hondas, its been proven to be a good suspension upgrade.

Jim Fab makes traction bars also for hondas and mazdas i think, nice design also.

is it ok to permanently instal these traction bars on a daily driver, like the ones in the original link, or this one:

or are they primarily for track use only?

I would definitely be down to buy some if they were produced by full race or rallyguy. I am about to go very serious into racing and they will help I am sure (i have seen them help a ton of hondas)

An AWD front engine brace could be used for such a setup......

:D Well, I've been away for awhile. I'm in, but like so many other group buys, things don't work out well or quickly. That said, I,m still willing to try. Forgive my ignorance, but it is my assumption that this device is "supposed" to keep the front wheels down on a drag launch, similar to "wheelies". If this is so, or no, let me know.

Hey, Bill. Good to see(read?) you back! I don't think anything is happening with this item.

This keeps the control arms stable to eliminate wheel hop when launching, or spinning tire.
