After like a year of hardly even driving my DSM, I decided to take it racing over the weekend at our local parking-lot dragstrip down here. There's actually been a lot of work getting done on the car recently, and my megasquirt guru helped me get a decent pump gas tune going on it. The car is probably somewhere around 400whp on 91 octane, around 21-22psi, AFR's are kind of lean (~12:1), and injector duty cycles are kind of high (over 90%). I'm only on 1,000cc injectors, which aren't really big enough to make crazy power on our shitty gas, so that will change soon. Either way, I'm decently happy with how the car ran. The best I could get was an 8.1 @ 89mph, 1.9 60', spinning like crazy in 1st gear, then bogging the crap out of 2nd. I'm on 140 treadwear max performance summer tires (Hankook Ventus RS-3), which are not really meant for drag racing. Anyway, here are a couple videos...

This was my worst pass of the night. Only an 8.4 @ 87mph, 2.1 60'. You can hear all the wheelspin through 1st. It was all over the 9,000rpm rev limiter...

Here's my 8.1 @ 89mph pass, go-pro attached to the side of the car.

Here are a couple of recent photos of the car.

Very nice sir, I too ran the 1/8 this weekend with a best of 9.0@84.4 and best mph of 87.8. What times do you get in the qtr.?

I haven't ran it in the 1/4 with this setup. The closest 1/4-mile track to us is about 4 hours away. :(

BUMP!

Found another video of me racing. I'm going up against my buddy's Factory Five kit car, powered by a 5.3 LS truck motor. This was my best run of the night. 8.1 @ 89 with a 1.9 60' FFWD to 6:15

They're 140-treadwear Hankook Ventus RS3's. Not meant for drag racing at all, super-stiff sidewall. The car needs drag radials or slicks really bad.
