Well around a month ago i took my STOCK (besides heavy 16" OZ Racing Chronos) colt GT to the track. My best run was as follows.

16.3 @ 81 MPH 2.4 60'

I thought it would do better... but then again it does have 350 000 km's on the original 4g61t and the 11b turbo. I think that time is right around what they are rated at from factory... and coupled with the km's on the car, and that I weigh 250 lb's.... its not bad at all for the little beast. The datalogger was showing around 20 counts of knock at 9-10 psi as there is NO intercooler hahah.

Anyways, I installed a custom water/air intercooler system and added a bit of boost (15 psi). I also dropped the downpipe for some extra flow out the turbo. Other then that I added a bigger throttle body elbow.

I managed a new time of 15.3 @ 88 MPH with 2.3 60' @ 15-16psi. (datalogger was 25+ counts of knock and pulled timing back to 6 degress in 4th gear.. oops, i guess the 11b turbo is flowing too much hot air at 16 psi!!) I think that turning it down to around 13-14 should keep the knock counts in check and my timing up... should be able to dip a little further into 15's by turning the boost down a bit... also a bit better launch too.

Definalty a good improvement tho! Im happy with that time. With a few cheap mods (450cc injectors, 1G MAS, Chipped Eprom/tune/14b turbo/walbro 255/exhuast/ Sticky drag tires), I imagine i should be able to get deep into the 14's...if not just into the 13's with the old tired 1.6L..... then from there i dont know what i would do... maybe just drive it lots lol.

Ill keep you guys updated on anymore progress i make on her on the track.

Well went back to the 1/4 mile track and did a tiny bit better in the 89 colt GT

Managed a best ET of 15.2 @ 89 MPH w/ 2.3 60 foot.

Also had a run with a best MPH of 90 MPH with a ET of 15.3

This is still the same setup as before, but i was running my 15" OZ racing routes instead of my 16" OZ Chronos.

Mods:

-14ish psi on homemade MBC
-Custom Water/air intercooler
-Disconnected downpipe (run strait out o2 hoursing :) )
-stock 390cc injectors, 4g61t MAS, 11b turbo

That's exactly what I am running with my swapped hatch. It's a 4g63 w/ at least 60k on it, 16g @ 7psi w/ no intercooler and stock dp to 4g15 catback. I'm even still on the stock FP.

yeah im still on the origianl 4g61t in my colt. No plans to change it so far...

It has 223 original miles on the engine and tranny... still never been rebuilt! haha

I am planning on doing some little upgrades nxt year.. throw on a 14b or 13g, some 450cc's and a 1G or 2G mas along with a socket/chip for my eprom and a tune.

oh and fastvtgtx, get a intercooler on there!!! and a proper exhuast! or at least disconnect the crappy 1.5L downpipe from the o2 housing! Your times will improve huge. With a 63t and a 16g..... you should be running in the 13's no problem.. and if you can drive it good.... in the 12's!

Haha, I know. I'm going to get an evo 9 fuel pump and have a fmic on the way. I'm waiting on the exhaust cause I might be picking up a clean 90 TSi and if I do I'll be selling the hatch. But if I don't pick up the TSi I'll be getting a full exhaust setup. I have DR's from when my sedan was fwd so I'm all set to put down some good times just waiting on a couple things.
