I am starting to get aggrivated. I can not break 14.0 to save my life. Went up to the track last night and ran at least 10 times. Half the times I ran I had shifting problems or intercooler piping blow off.

First run of the night I ran a 14.2 @ 110mph @ 17psi 2.55 60'
Second run - 14.05 @ 111mph @ 18psi 2.6 60'

Those were basically my cleanest runs, and also my worst 60's. I ran 14 flats all night at ranging from 108 to 111. Even got my 60' down to 2.3 and still couldn't get a 13. On the one run I would have had a 13.8 or so I blew a pipe after shifting to 4th. My overall night = :vom:

Sounds like me, I couldnt get my 60 under 2.5 last week at the local 1/8th mile track. Only thing I managed to do was wheel hop very badly and destroy a perfectly good axle. Although I was trapping 89 mph

I don't know how I did it, but I got a 2.14 second 60' time yesterday on bald peeling street radials, with FWD and a cheapo posi insert from ebay.

The tires are so bad, I decided not to drive it untill I replace them. I'm one good burnout away from steel cords.

You wouldn't be the first guy to turn down his boost and run faster. Hint Hint

*looks around*

Your 60 foots sucks. You're easily in the 13's if you can get a little better traction off the line.

Stiff suspension?

Hook up a boost switch to launch at low boost and flip the switch for normal boost when you hit 2nd gear.

Yes, yes they do.

I am in the process of swapping everything from my hatch to my sedan. I'll be putting in AGX's with awd springs in the rear and cut awd on gr2's in the front. Anyone messed around with welded diffs?

I am also strong considering getting a dual stage boost switch from 3bar racing. I sort of want to run 2 of them and have a low, middle and high boost and have them automatically switch depending on the gear I'm in. Just can't think of a way to do it.

I have the same problem with my hyundai, I did 4 passes a 1 1/2 year ago and spun half track every time which I had drag radials. Since then the motor blew the rings and I'm building her again with a fresh stock build block and head. I FINALLY bought a set of Hoosiers 23x7x14's and got a 3rd one FREE,lol. Hopefully to be done by August to make it to the NJ Shootout and a NH Import War event. I added several mods and will update them as I go along when I start to put her back together again, lol.

Yeah I feel your pain, FWD sucks some times, good for showing off but bad for drag racing, lol.

I think suspension is an issue, BUT even with shitty suspension you should still be able to break 13s. Sounds like you have a lot of issues to work out, such as piping blowing off. I would almost bet where pipes are blowing off there are leaks.
Just my .02

IMO you have the mph to run in 12!

I doesn't have experience with my Colt at the drag strip but, with my NSRT4 I run 12.8@108 on slicks. When I got slicks I gained .4 sec on 1/4.

(I hope I can go to the strip with my Colt Turbo before the end of the season to try it. I have to buy wheels to swap my slicks, and make my turbo spool faster)

I agree that you have the MPH to be in the 12's. I also agree that you need to address your piping problems before going to the track again. You could easily use JB weld (I know, not the best) to make small beads on the ends of your pipes. I don't know if you are using T-Bolt clamps or not but they seem to be better at preventing coupler blow-off with smooth piping than worm drive clamps.

Talk about digging one up! lol I've sense then swapped over to my sedan, put awd springs with kyb adjustables in the rear in, got bigger injectors, up-ed the boost and fixed boost leaks.

I'm now deep in the 13's with my best trap at 114 mph and best time a 13.23 @ 111 mph. I will be upping the boost some more and tuning it a little more and shooting for 12's before winter hits.

I wish I could find a nice sedan and swap it. I'd have the best of both worlds. A 4 door and a 4g63t. I can't wait until my hatch is done. I'm going to the flashlight drags down the street from my house.

LOL I always go to "New Posts" and just read those. I never check the original post date.

My AWD runs 13.1 @ 104mph with 1.902 60's. That run was with a stock ecu for tuning and on a 14b. Go-go gadget four by four...
