Three runs for the night:
12.3@ 115 1.89 60' slipped the clutch a little off the two step but bogged second bad
12.1@115 1.87 60' slipped the clutch less and shifted better
14something@115 spun, still upset about this one

No 11's tonight, I think I would have had 11s with more passes. Got the car ready last minute, didnt mess too much with the tune. It was at 22psi with afr in the mid 11s, one count of knock on the only datalog I did. Maybe the car has power to be had in the tuning but I think its down on mph due to a blown HG. Still monitoring coolant, I know its pushing it but dont think the motor is consuming any. Also I tihnk the slicks are robbing MPH, my best was 119 on the BFG drag radial's. Weight is at a little over 2200 w/out me and this was on pump gas. I have no idea how the timing looked.

Great times on blown HG and pump gas tune. The BFG is a smaller diameter tire than the slicks when they grow, correct? If thats the case it might explain the trap speed difference. Need to see what the timing was doing up top. If it was falling off bad then there is definitely power to be had there. I know my timing will peak at like 24 degrees in the mid range and fall off to 18 by redline, which is a lot of power to lose since I have no timing control.

I'm insanely jealous not only of the fact that your car weighs 1,000 pounds less than mine, but that you can make decent power on pump gas. Nothing to be upset about here, these are pretty good times man. What do you think your car is making power wise? 320whp?

It is probally making low 300s whp which I think is low for the mod's. I guess you dont know my setup... front mount, 850s, lightly ported head, ported 2g mani, fp3065, chipped eprom ecu, blow through mass air with maft. I thought this would be capable of 380whp on pump, so until I get there I wont be happy. There is a little power to be had in tuning im sure, and I plan on throwing in some cams soon. Im trying to hold off on upping the boost till the car makes good power on pump and low boost. I want to push this stock bottom end to 28-30psi and go 130+traps.

I was running 24.5 MT Drag's on a 15'' steelie. My 119mph pass was on 205/50 BFG's on the stock wheel's. With that mph and my factored weight in the car is making 320ish on a calculator. Same weight and 115mph the car is just below 300. I think this calculator is gueeing flywheel hp also :( I will try to get to a dyno and make more power, im definately lacking.

How much were you boosting on these passes? If you're jsut running a modded EPROM without an S'AFC then I think you could benefit from some fine tuning. What type of intercooler are you running? Stock cams also hold you back quite a bit on a setup like that. There's no reason why the stock bottom-end couldn't take 28-30psi and 130+ traps, should be a real fun car once you do all that stuff. :D

Congrads man not bad at all..Your running some what of the same setup i'm running.. I think you might want to do a compression test or hg test to make sure everything is ok.. I agree if your only using eprom ecu and maft to tune i think you will gain alot from an afc or dsm link for some fine tuning..I'm going to run 35psi and c-16 race gas for the track and 25 psi and 100 or 105oc for the streets that's on a almost stock bottom end.. It's all about the tune no knock or detanation no worry's kind of may not last to long but that's what comes along with that kind of abuse...Keep us posted hope you get everything figured out..

After my last post I went to the dyno. Leaned the car out a click because I saw some 11s on the wideband earlier in the day. First pass 280whp. 15 counts of knock and it was leaning out. Base timing was retarded a couple degrees so I corrected that and richened the car up. Made another pass still at 22psi and it made 336whp with about 7 counts of knock. Going for a decent number I threw in a couple of gallons of 112 and turned the boost up. On 28psi it made 363whp and a little over 310tq. This was with 20counts of knock. I can never effectively tune any car on a dyno, too much shit going on. I plan on street tuning and heading back. I think it will eclipse 350whp with the knock situation figured out and some more tuning. I took a chunk out of the number one plug wire at the track when it made contact with the cam gear so that was causing some breaking up also. So the 115mph was with the car way down on power, this car has ALOT more in it.

When I was running the BFGs I would dump it off the 2step in 2nd gear and let them smoke for a few seconds. The tires spin very fast in second. These times were on the mickey tee's.

I was just playing with a calculator:
115mph= 280whp
So with 336hp=122mph

I would be very pleased if the car is in the low 120s. There is a slick only night at Moroso on 4/15, I plan on attending and bringing home an 11sec slip.
