Went to the track tonight on 20psi hoping to break into the 12s at 115ish mph. First couple passes Im only going 110-112 traps. I turned the boost up to 22 and the mph rose to 113-114 so something is definately wrong. Anyhow I made 10passes with the car with several being the low 13's and the best being:
60' 2.1
1/8 8.59
1/4 12.96
MPH 114.43

I have a 13.0@113 to back that up. Im going to try to figure out where my 50hp went tomorrow starting with a boost leak test, then check the tbelt. Since the 119mph I have replaced the HG with a cometic and I think the timing may be off or the intake mani or injectors may be leaking boost. I dont have a wideband on the car currently but I logged it at 0counts of knock and advance ranging from 22-24.

Crank it up!

But yes, for that boost level, you probably should be a tid faster.

Before I replaced the gasket the car was going 118-119 on 23psi, and I thought that was low. :(

Ive been there man! I had a couple track outings last summer where the same crap was happening...low traps, half second slower, just wasnt running as strong as I did on the previous outing.

Give everything a good once over, make sure you have no pre-turbo exhaust leaks, no boost leaks, and your plugs are fresh.
What tires are you running?
Congrats on the 12's either way!

I have the BFG gforce drag radials at 16psi. Im still trying to figure out whats wrong with the car. I have to retard the cam sensor almost all the way and tighten the idle screw all the way in to get the timing to 5deg base and the car is still surging from 1000-1300. Also I attempted to test for boost leaks and found a couple pre mass air so I dont think those were hurting, but I couldnt test over 6psi because my method of capping off the compressor inlet kept blowing off. I account a mph or so from being 1less psi and from running bpr8s rather than 7s.

Im an Idiot. I guess in the rush to get the car running, (got it running tue night and brought it to the track wed) I must not have plugged the connector on the tb in very well as it came unplugged. So I discovered this about 1hour ago while playing with timing, plugged it in and the car smoothed out. So I set the idle and base timing at 5 and took it for a spin. Its safe to say my mph is back. I no longer have the wideband I was borrowing so Im not sure why the car is picking up knock even at a measely 20psi. im gonna richen up the MAFT a click tomorrow and see if that helps. Timing advance is now at 18at the top of fourth.

Also the new HG seems to be sealing well. It was kinda iffy as the block should have been decked but I dont feel like removing it from the car so I cleaned up the few rough spots with 1000grit wet sandpaper and torqued the cometic HP to 100ft lbs. Hopefully it continues to hold. None of the rough spots were near the cylinder.

this works great for cars with 100 hp........not ones that spin 3rd gear with hot drag radials.

on a side note, your times are fairly consistent with my car but I'm a non driver. I only made a few passes but on 18 psi scm61 I went 13.29 at 111 with a 2.4 60'.. thats what low 300 hp does unless your a pro driver..

But you just have to wait a long freaking time for the car to warm up first. Thumbs down to racing when it's too cold.

My car loves cold air, although the intake I run gets the coldest air available so when its below freezing out the car runs really good.
