my new nitto street drag radials (NT 555R) just arrived today. the drag strip closes next weekend for the season and tomorrow looks like maybe good weather.
so my question is, do the tires need any kind of initial "heat cycle" break-in? i've got conflicting advice. some say to do a proper heat cycle on the tires when they're brand new (heat up and let cool for 24-48 hours, preferably with the car on jack stands).
others say this initial heat cycle advice only applies to circuit racing tires, not drag tires. i can just drive 90 minutes to the track and race.
any suggestions/experience. thx. (i'm off to get them mounted.
