I also have had run several times in the 12.1's and 12.2's at 118 to 119 my best being 12.14 at 118.89 with a 1.94-2.0sec. 60'. This is with my '89 4G63 Mirage weighing 2550 with a small 16G. I use MT 22" by 8" slicks and 30% toluene as race gas. I also would like some good slicks to get in the 1.8's for high 11's

Bet you had more than 20psi to play with
Oh well, I would have liked to max out that settup, but time for bigger, better, and lighter things

Im running slicks, but not really because they dont work well with my settup anymore. They were good when I was making no power, but I am now so its no good.

I could do no better than a 2.0 60ft, and that is bouncing off the rev limiter in 1st from spinning the slicks and spinning them 1/2 way through 2nd. They are only 6 inches wide, 20 tall.

Another setback is I was hitting the traps at 6700rpm according to my logger in 5th! Thats freaking junk, but correctable. It is because of my 20 inch tall baby slicks. Bigger slicks and I sould do 11's at over 120 with the lil 16g.

FMIC, stock motor/head, 3 inch ex., 660, AFC, 22psi
LSD?

Baby M/t 22*8 slicks overhere and 1.89 best 60 foot on a Canadian track known for its slippery surface.

I use to get 2.0, 2.1 shitty sixtyfoots. I was told to warm them up using 2nd gear. WOW! now i run constant 1.90-1.92 . And im still spinning like a freak, I will see three times the TPS reach as low as 11% on the first gear. This is how much i have to play with the throttle to get some decent traction!

At 25psi don't you think you will be out of the max compressor efficiency of the small 16g?
well the 16g dosnt like pump gas much

but race gas/fmic is a great combo - he can get away with a nice amount of boost on c16 with that turbo

BAck from the dead...

I would warm up my slicks in 2nd, if I had an ebrake! I fixed that over the winter though.

16g is gone. The big FMIC is the best freaking thing I put on the car, makes tunning a freaking breeze.

No LSD, but I am welding the diff in my spare tranny for next season, hopefuly I can break the one that is in the car by mid year so I can have the welded guy in for the Shootout.

boostfreak, that is not a good idea, this is what I DID in my race car last year I had a welded diff in there also, broke an axle car went to the wall thank god it was just at launch other wise I would be dead, all that power just goes to the axle that is not broken, please me safe when you drive, or just save up and buy a quiafe because if you do break it the car will come to a stop, I understand the fact that you are building a budget car, but somethings you can NOT get away with
how did the shootout go ?
sorry I could not make it , the colt spun a rod bearing (TWICE)

The tranny had no 4th gear, so I did not make it down. It was a good time though, people would have been freaking if I did though. The Subies were slow, but most of them are. So you say no to welding eh? Fair enough, makes my like easier.

yeah man don't do it, this what I did before I had a quiafe
I would get in water box do a burnout, obviously only the passenger wheel got hot, roll foward, do another burn out just before you stage not in the water box, this will cause the other wheel (driver side to spin now)
stage and now you are ready to go , it does work, and is a lot safer than a welded diff

Oddly enough both of my wheels usually spin, in a water box, and on street tires when laying patches. Also, my car had barley any toruqe steer. :music1:
