26psi of boost on 93 octane with the stock timing map should knock through the roof assuming the motor has good static compression. If the car was tuned like shit and that 60' time on a radial and say not the greatest pass then I can definitely see that trap speed he put up. Assuming the car bogged at all and I can see that trap on a radial. |

I guess I should respond the car has a bone stock 270,000 mile motor (ect head gasket and arp's) [quote]Jesus.. that turbo with that much boost. and only trapping 114. Something's not right. I was trapping 106 on a 16g on my 1.6. on 15psi Car is a handful on Street tires it walks the tires off past 80mph (hankook r2s 205/50/15) It is a highway car for now (soon 2 change) [quote]26psi of boost on 93 octane with the stock timing map should knock through the roof assuming the motor has good static compression. Car see's no knock 21 degrees of timing @ redline I pedal the car thru 3rd never go Wot untill 5500 rpm 3rd (some of this has been addressed now)I believe the car will go 119 mph traps w/ the dsm link and lsd insert on pump and radials. Oh yeah I have only 6-7 passes in this car. Most of the time this year was spent shaking down the 578whp awd talon making ready for the big powwer next year DJ ETMotorsports.com |

I don't know you and you don't know me However I have been around dsm's since 1991 I have been racing since 1992. One of our cars has either won or placed at the SO in stock appearing class (w/ over 240,000 on the motor) 4 out of the last 7 years ( last year we didn't compete in SA the car was sold with 259,000miles on the motor) alot of people know of that car plate Said : eglsfly and was owned by Ed Puskaric. My colt trap 112 in Norwalk after the SO this year with 21psi I was racing my 578 whp 1st gen during the race(always runs like crap @ SO). Most will reconize the colt it is all over the web.I didn't post this to start trouble, maybe I was right in my thinking that most forums are nothing more then just people spouting off. That's Bill's old car right? That car has always been a freak with that 1.6L. That's very interesting that the car won't knock at 26psi on pump gas. I've never heard or even seen the car pull a decent 60', even with the 14b Bill had or the 60-1 that is now on it, so just to let everyone know that car traps exactly like it should with the 330' times it runs.

Yes it is Bill's old car. It was sold to Another Employee then I bought it from Him. Bill got his Galant VR-4 running finally so we will start on it soon. I have since added DSM link, modified suspension (since the 114 trap) ,Next install LSD insert, Turn the boost up more and try getting 119mph traps on the little 1.6 that could, it's tuff trying to get two cars ready for race season (dog box going in tha talon) ETMotorsports is going through huge growth lately. We just moved last year and now we have to Move again, so no one has been real vocal on any list lately but that is changing. If anyone has a Need we will have an aluminum Radiator soon Just for CSM's Waiting on the first one now. Quote: That's Bill's old car right? That car has always been a freak with that 1.6L.
