I just found pictures from some of my early turbo builds and thought you might like to see them. The 1st was a Escort.
So,two people I work with were discussing what was a better engine, a Honda or rotary 13b. At the time I had a 86 escort and I told them anything could be quick. They bet me I could not make the Escort quick. So I put a IHI turbo on a rebuilt engine, had the head ported and used a LA3 computer from a 88 Thunderbird Turbo coupe. I re-pinned the ECM plug for the inputs and outputs that were different and built a patch harness for the wires that the Escort harness was missing. I put the hood scoop from my Isuzu Pup turbo diesel truck on it. Here is the outside:

It did a best run of 13.6@109, here is a link to it running a 13.8@102 at Lebanon valley in New York.

I broke a axle at the Ford shoot out at Epping after about 11 runs.

I have more pictures of the turbo setup I put on it just before I sold it. If you want to see them I will post them also.

It was fun but the CVH engine isn't that good. It made around 240HP but was hard to launch good. It would squat hard on the rear and then the front tire would spin. I am building another escort and I have some ideas to make it launch better.
