I have a members car here and I'm trying to think of different ways to run a 2g maf and cone filter since it's quite a bit larger than the stock setup. Not looking to move the battery if possible.

You going to have to move the battery. I'd suggest using the FP cast intake pipe, since it's meant to bolt directly on to a 2g, and it has the oval shape to it.

If you used a smaller filter, you can easily see where the 2g MAF would go:

I was hoping to route it up to it's stock location but there's just no room. Thanks for the pic Tony, I'll figure something out.

Harvey had a full sized battery w/3G maf. He re-fabbed the battery tray to move closer to the strut tower if I remember correctly.

Sorry, I'm not a big help here...I did this using a PC680 battery...

Thanks for the pics Paul. That's similar to how I did my first colt that I swapped. One obstacle that I'm facing now is that the IC pipe that I built is right in the way now for the filter to mount like a 1g/2g dsm. I need it to route up like the stock 3g turbo one does. I've been following underdog's sleeper GVR4 build and he crammed an evo maf in his 1g aircan. I'm thinking of doing something similar since there's just no room but wanted to see what else was out there first.

Does the car still have power steering? If not what about moving the battery to the driver's side?

Speed density is the solution.

I used a short silicone tube with a short section of stainless piping, to elongate the 2G as it enters the 14b sized turbo inlet.

I have hard piping that makes it very difficult to space everything out, basically things are insulated with sleeves of radiator hose.

I'll take a pic now and see if that will help you decide on where this is going.

I also don't need the piece to lengthen the piping, so it would be yours for shipping, if you need it.

Silicone hose is a vibrant piece that was given to me by a shop, and the section of stainless (a bi@tch to cut by hand!), was also a freebie, and saved my butt.

The 16G / Evo3 inlet is slightly larger and does not require this piece anymore, but still needs the rubber sleeve in the base of the 2G MAS to connect to it.

My local internet provider wasn't allowing any upload traffic, or at least it was so bottle necked, I could even send a basic email, let alone a pic for photobucket. I'll see what I can do soon.
