Just thought I'd share some pics and stuff.

Been a huge fan of the '89 Colt/Mirage turbos since 1991. That year my buddy got one on loan from a dealership overnight for a test drive. We beat the shit out of it all night long. The next day he bought a used Mustang LX 5.0 instead because he was afraid the Mirage would break after all the stuff we did to it. He may not have bought the Mirage but I was in love with it. Unfortunately, I wasn't in any position to buy a car (no license, no job, etc.). In 1994 I got a clean 1991 red Colt NA version. I couldn't find or afford a GT. Since then I've had a ton of different cars but I've always admired and wanted an '89 Colt GT or Mirage Turbo. One day I hope to have either a clean stock one or a quick 4G63T-swapped sleeper. I love seeing the members rides on here.

My current ride is a 2008 Cobalt SS. It actually reminds me a lot of the Colt. It's basically a cheap econobox with an upgraded engine and suspension. Not many were made (1,105 in 2008). The car outperforms others that cost twice as much. It responds well to mods. The engine is great. I love it.

Yeah, no one really likes the horn button thing. I kind of think of it as a painting on the wall in a house. I may do something different.

AWD??? I wish. No one has done the conversion. As much as that'd cost it would be better just to get an EVO though.

There have been a few unsuccessful attempts to go RWD. The best one right now is a guy transferring over a GTO drivetrain and engine.

I test drove one of them when they first came out, the shift knob came off in my hand on the 1-2 shift. lol Most likely dealership abuse.

That's weird. The shift knob is on sooooo hard to get off. It's metal covered in stitched leather. The plastic piece with the pattern pops off. Under that is a torx screw holding the knob to the top of the shifter. The knob isn't screwed on. It's on a spline with a little adhesive. You pretty much have to ruin the knob to get it off. Almost everyone breaks the plastic reverse lockout trying to get it off.

I'll see if I can get a video sometime. Only video I have is a really short crappy cell video of when it dynoed 300hp/359tq. It's in this old slideshow I made. You'll have to FF to 4:07. You may not want to see the rest because it has as many dislikes as likes.

I just yanked it hard during the 1-2 shift and off it came. lol The previous owner hit the end of the 60k warranty and traded it in. The look on the sales guys face was priceless when it came off. He tried sooo hard to sell that car to me. :lol:
