I am getting my car prepped for paint and instead of just using a roller i figured i should just go all out. I have 8" wheels on the back and i am pulling the quarter out about an inch and a half past stock. This is as far as i have got so far but this has all been done since friday.

Not since I've seen a lot of those super low German colts in Fluorescent green among the other colors, have I seen this much body work done to fenders and related trim.
I've seen complete side skin replacements performed out of the Euro/Slavic states, but this is the first up close I have seen of someone adding a section of metal to the fender lips.
I'm keen to see how this all looks in the end.
This will get moved to Pics and Vid's though.

Now if only you didn't have those cheap ebay wheels and gigantic offroad tires.

LMAO Can't everyone say something nice...

I think it will look nasty if it is finished correctly. Will definitely be a pain to get both sides to match.

Someone in Europe did some major rust repair to a CSM about two years ago. It looked similar to your project, but not intended to flare like that.

Before you guys beat him up over his project, maybe WAIT until you see the finished project!!

Anyhow, I had always thought of doing something like that, except with overfenders.....

Something like the Golf RSi

I found these...... 16x8.25 0 offset, with 245/45-16 tires...

i hope its not moist where you live. rust underneath boday work is a biotch.

past that, this looks like something that should've been done with fiberglass fixed to the original sheet metal.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnSJjbsnvP8 This is what I eluded to earlier.

Keep doing what you are doing, and if it works out, then all the better. Guys, I am sure he knows about the brutal aspects of rust setting in, and then painting over it.

Both these guys are getting work done. Use their moxy to motivate this spring.

I don't plan on there being to much filler, im able to get it pretty straight with a hammer but there will definitely be some. I know all about the rust and i am taking preventative measures, the whole car will be undercoated when everything is said and done along with some other stuff before the undercoating. Every spec of surface rust has been hit with either a wire wheel or a sand blaster. I guess those pics do show a little more flare from that angle but, i basically have top lined up with the tire plus a little space between the tire and the inner quarter to stop it from rubbing. I dont want it to look like some crazy porsche or anything, but looking at that wimpy quarter on the other side does make me laugh. I will post a pic looking at it from the front of the car and also of all the welding on the back side when i am done its just really time consuming. Thanks for the positive comments :)

If this is Mike's car, which I think it is, then it was my old colt I used to have. Good luck bro can't wait to see it on the road again

You got it Chris, it will be back on the road in May. I dont know if you remember on the passenger side where someone ran over a boulder and that huge dent that went diagnally under the car, but anyways i cut that entire piece out and look what i found inside.
