I picked this up from the yard today. I've kinda been looking for one. I happen to find a white one to match my car and it has these little lips on the bottom to make it hella cool.

Unfortunately some dickhead did a crap spray can paint job on it and didn't even cover the turn signals or lips. I'll sand it down a little and do my own rattle can job. I'll put a clear coat on as well so it will be shiny like the rest of my Colt.

Here's what I'm replacing:

Thanks Davis for cutting a big ass hole in the bumper. At least I have the stock lower spoiler and I'll hold on to that.

Good score, can't wait to see it mounted up. Since its just spray paint I'm sure some quality laquer thinner will take the overspray right off the lenses.

I always thought the only way to get this bumper to flow is to fill in the side accents and the accent at the top of the rear bumper. Otherwise it just looks dumb.

I mounted the whole bumper up today. It doesn't look that great, but looks better than the stock hacked piece that was on there. Obviously the white paint doesn't quite match and there are some fitment issues. The first being that it is slightly wider. This can be fixed by adding some bracing to bring the sides in just a little. Also, the body lines don't match in the wheel well. I might cut this later to get it to flow better. Also, it seems to hang lower than the rest of the body. It may just be those little wings on the front, but it looks heavy on the front because it hangs lower. The body line isn't where it should be and doesn't flow just as Evotistical said.

The bright side is that it has holes for things like the side mount intercooler. And since it's wider than the CSM piece, there is actually room for the side mount. The turn signals mount up just fine, though I still need to check and see if they work. The best part of this for me is that I got rid of the hacked junk that was on there. Some day I still want either a JDM piece, or something slightly custom that looks right and flows more air than the stock crap.

I think it looks pretty good. I know it would be a ton of work but have you thought about finding a stock bumper and cutting it just below the body line and use the bottom half of the subie bumper and attach them together? A lot of work I know but then it would flow better and mount up like it should.

That's the main drawback to fitting bumpers from other makes, it just doesn't flow like the original bumper does and carry out the lines in the moldings.

It still looks decent though in my opinion.

After having this on for a week or so, my conclusion is this:

It looks great from the front! However, from the sides, it just doesn't flow well. The lower black lip is a little low for the stock side skirts.

I have been seriously considering what 89Mirageman says about using the upper part of the stock bumper. If I do that, I want to make sure I get a bumper that will also flow with the shape of the upper part and have all the "holes" in it for future mods. I've found myself starring at Integra and Accord bumpers lately. I'll keep an eye out and see if anything looks like it will work. If not, I'm also seriously considering making a custom lower half from fiberglass just to see what I come up with. We'll see.

Infinity g20 bumpers are the only other known stock bumper in the US that fit our cars and flow properly.

and it would look pretty sweet with foglights and a few cuts:

I'm still not crazy about the G20 bumper. I don't care for the side markers (and no front turn signals) and the body line is as good as a stock bumper.

Don't get me wrong, it looks okay, but if I'm going to do this again, I'm doing it the way I want. Looks like I'll go custom if I do this again. Unless a JDM unit falls in my lap.

I still say an early 90's accord bumper with the factory lip would look great on these cars if you could make one fit. They remind me of the jdm GVR4 bumpers a little. Of course you would need to mate it with the upper part of the csm bumper so I'm sure it would take a lot of work to get it to look good.

If I ever finish my swap this will be next on the list. Along with adding the turbo csm rocker covers and Galant GSX door moldings.
