This is how everything turned out. Yesterday was a very long day. We did all the fabrication from start to finish. Turned better than I could hope for. Very different and very unique, or at least I think so. Also below is a picture of my new front motor mount. Did not have many options as the compressor was too large.

Initial testing show the thing makes full boost at 6200-6400rpm in third gear on the stock 1.6L 4G61.

Comments welcome. Both good and bad.

Steven

Looks great! How loud is that exhaust? I have been thinking about doing that with my 89gt but it will see some street time....

How come you didn't just run the exhaust straight out through the bumper instead of the fender?

Because my oil line, and my coolant lines were in the way, and the bend would have been even more rediculous. And, on a CSM the frame hangs lower than a dsm. Which would have been another rediculous angle in the downpipe to go back up. And the biggest part was just to be different.

Hmm thats one way of doing it. Lots of work put into it. Good fab work. Not my style but I'm a little more reserved than sticking the exhaust out the side of the fender, but hey if you aimed to be different you did that for sure.

Why is everyone so afraid of big turbos. They drive around town just like any other turbo I ahve ever owned. The car still performs just fine and moves in traffic great.

And no, this is not a daily.

I'm quite a lazy driver, so i'm all about sacrificing a bit of top end power for bottom end response. Not having to downshift to get up steep hills or overtake is nice. My 4G61T with the Evo 3 big 16G is not what i'd consider laggy, but its also not what i'd consider as 'ideal' for street driving - full boost was available before 4000rpm. It was faster than my mates 4G63T 16G powered Lancer in a straight line, but around town i'm alot slower because he has the ability to make more boost at 3200rpm than my car is making at 4000rpm. Thats what I was getting at, but this is definately a case of 'different strokes for different folks'
