What were the holes around the inlet for? I've never gotten a straight answer about them.

turbo looks great...it makes me want to throw my 14b in the trash..i believe the holes are to prevent compressor surge(air flowing backwards into the compressor wheel)

you are correct, they are anti-surge holes.

i got the manifold brand new for 175 and it was coated. the turbo was 989ish
