240's are awesome. Why not just use a Nissan engine? rb26 or sr20. |

Or just boost the ka24, cheaper then sr20 and rb26. Blow up your ka24? Go pull one out of a pathfinder or nissan pickup.

No. Not much point in doing that when an SR20 practically bolts right in, is just as strong as a 4G63, and is way lighter due to its aluminum block.Quote: ..Well i guess you could always swap a 2008 skyline motor in
I hope that's a joke.

I daily drive one with a SR20 swap. It's a great car that is pretty quick, gets decent gas mileage, handles awesome, and is a blast to drive. As far as turbo/swaps go, here's my 2c: The KA is a turd. To turbo one reliably, you need to upgrade the internals. No thanks. Most KAs from trucks were not only SOHC, but had the oil pickup/pan in a different position than the car ones. It's easier to use a DOHC one from an Altima if you can't find one out of a 240. But they're all crap anyway. SRs are WAY too easy to swap in anything else. Granted, RBs are getting cheaper every day, but besides the fact you need to buy motor mounts (and a driveshaft for an RB25), maintenance parts are way harder to come by. PLUS, you can't keep A/C with an RB engine. Well, it may be possible but nobody does it. I love being able to get any part I need for my SR at Autozone, Napa, or Advance. So anyway, here's my 240: (newest pics first, then older) 1991 240SX SE SR20DET Super HICAS Viscous LSD ABS JDM HKS intake JDM RS*R Invidia 3" catback JDM 3" resonated test pipe JDM 3" downpipe JDM HKS EVC IV electronic boost controller JDM R32 Skyline seats JDM 180SX steering wheel JDM 180SX rear garnish JDM 1996 180SX hood JDM Yashio Factory Radiator (SUPARADZI copper three-layer core, using the resin tank of a lightweight and cost reductions to realized. 君達の強い見方! 君達strong views! カッコいいだろ! i have had both turbo KA and an sr20det the KA was loud and nasty fast, The SR was real smooth power and way more reliable i would stay away from the rb motors it's more of a hassle and you can get the same power from both KA and SR |

They're just as strong as a 4G63 in stock form, and much lighter weight thanks to its aluminum block.

My 240 just went up for sale to fund my shitbox. Nothing out handles a properly built 240 though... I'll miss that. |

Ive had an SR20 240, Ive built and driven tons of them. Ive also done RB25, RB26 and CA 240s. A built turbo KA is probably the best way to go. They make big power real easy and its so much easier to get parts. The money you would spend on a swap can make the KA real stout. Check out the S14 from AMS, just went Low 9.1s with a KA-T and 300ZX auto trans. |
