He is talking about the technology some of the porsche's and trucks are using. Basically it is these little fingers that open and close altering the A/R of a turbine housing.
Dodge did this years and years ago with the Shelby Daytonas I believe. I forget what they called it but it was this same concept where the veins were in the compressor housing.
VVT - Variable Vane Technology. They are becoming more mainstream on smaller vehicles because of the efficient power gain that can be given to smaller displacement engines. I've only driven one car with this kind of turbo; an Acura RDX loaner that I had while my TSX was in for warranty work. For a clunky crossover SUV it was quite spirited :)

It's actually VNT. Back in the 80's it was pretty high-tech, but now it's fairly common. Pretty much all the new diesels are coming with VNT turbos now, because they don't need to use wastegates. What sucks is, all the little vanes get clogged up with soot and they stop working and then people need to buy new turbos for their big-ass trucks.

I guess your still expecting results. Well should be early next week. Car is finally on speed density now. A few small bugs and adjustments and we are ready to tune it. The car makes 13psi on the two step with no throttle body gasket.

why no TB gasket? I just goop some of the right stuff gasket maker on my old gaskets good for once or twice but the third time the gasket usually get's shot.

Speak of witch I have no gaskets at all on my 14b setup Lol just the one on the manifold to head. Works awesome. gaskets blow literally in the turbo area.

Maybe Jason should update how he feels now that I have done a rough tune on the car. 14psi and breaking up had him singing a different tune this afternoon. I maxed out the wastegate spring this afternoon. So doing some research and going to install a bigger spring tonight and give her a go again tomorrow or the day after.

Looks like we can probably get 20-23psi out of it with his current fuel system.

He was just throwing a fit. He had a better day today. Results and video once we get it worked out.

Looks like 8000-8500 will be were it reaches full boost. He was already looking at valve springs before I left today.

:supz:
