My engine bay was looking a little busy, so I reorganized a few things, and splashed a little paint around to spruce the place up.

Yeah I need to make it all pretty for a car meet in Erie PA next Saturday. :prayer:

Plus I figured it would be easier to change the exhaust manifold gasket with the engine out.
Ooh, and it gets all new wiring harnesses.

Not really a fan of 1g talon bumpers on 3G's... they stick out a bit far for my liking.. I think the 1ga n/t laser/eclipse bumpers look a lot cleaner.

But i cant argue that that engine bay looks pretty spiffy!! Show us updates once u get the new harness and drivetrain back in there!

I'll take a real camera up there tomorrow and get some pictures. All I know for sure is that it's a 1g DSM bumper, but I put it on well over five years ago. I found it laying in a big open area in the junkyard where I a red DSM used to be.

I found this old picture the file said August 2004. I outlined the filler I had to make:

The DSM cover bolts onto the top of the bumper beam, and the filler bolts in from behind in the original manner:

Requested updates:
I peeled the tape off.

The harnesses aren't completely new, but I consolidated them into a cleaner more professional looking layout. Over the years I added things like alarm siren, dual pressure boost control, cooling fan timer circuitry, fuel pump rewire, amplifier, 2g MAF, knock sensor, seventh wire for turbo MAF, horn relay for use of single wire horn, ECU controlled gus mod or "dodge mod", oil pressure sender, fuel pressure sender... The list I'm sure goes on.

Anyway some of those wires just went places, and didn't really unplug anywhere, so if I wanted to remove the harness I was pretty much screwed. I found nice waterproof plugs for everything, soldered, and shrink tubed them all on, and put all the random wires into the harneses. I also tucked the wires underneath the master cylinder, and ran the A/C and firewall harness down behind the engine.

Looks good man! You should toss in a larger elantra brake booster in there while the bay is empty.
