Maybe he is just looking for fuel economy? There is a 1989 colt for $300 just outside of phoenix.

there's a red 3rd gen hatch close to where I live, I stopped by to look at it and it looks real clean, the guy wants $500 for it, but im sure he would take less. I havent driven it or looked at the interior but the exterior looks pretty good, I live in port royal va 22535

It will fit weather you do it the way the festiva swap guys do it or do it the way the rest of us do it.

I bought a 98 about a year ago for the swap, but the car ended up being to rusty to be worth my time. We named it the flexy flyer due to the car being made out of tin foil.

If you want the tires to fit under the car the only issue will be axle shafts and that is really not that big of a issue in a project like this.

I wouldn't pick a metro for a car to swap. They are more meant to be a gas sipper. They suffer from terrible chassis rust, and with anything over 60hp would probably rip in half. Believe me, I have one. It gets 50mpg average over a whole tank, but is rusty as shit.

Thanks for the replies guys, but the people who found something are quite far away. Gas aint cheap. :)

And dont worry, this will be a best of both worlds type deal. Cheap, Easy, Fast. You just can beat 1650lbs STOCK. Im mean seriously?!?! It would go 10's with 350whp.

Oh, and it will hook. :axe: Is either going o be the fastest thing on the streets, or it will kill me in short order.
