Ten years today since I joined here. I didn't even have a csm yet but I kept passing by two in a vacant lot on the way to one of the junkyards that I went to on a regular basis. I finally caught somebody down the road from them at home one day and he gave me the owners name and #. Both turned out to be Colts so my username should have been 89Coltman  . I think I ended up paying $450 for both and sold off the black 4 speed 91. Roof was terrible on it. I kept the red 89 since it was a 5 speed and had a hydro clutch and that ended up being my first major build. I got it running with the 4G15 and did the t-belt and all that good stuff and drove it back and forth to paint/autobody classes and later swapped it and painted it black.

All because I somehow ended up on this guy's site, I think his name was Lilevo or something like that. 8)

I bought a Colt because it had good fuel economy and was nothing like my big block Ford at the time.

3X Colts later and time keeps flying by, mainly because it only sees the road during half the year!

This would be a different site for sure, if Chris had never shown up and put so much back into it.

Don't leave!!!! :prayer:

Aww, thanks Tim

I also visit here daily whether I have a csm or not so no chance of getting rid of me.

Sounds familiar Tim. I bought my Colt because my Dodge B van was getting such lousy mileage. I actually was looking for a Civic, but the day I picked up a swap sheet and started looking there was a Colt, and no Civics. So here I am.

I got my Colt in '08. Bought it off member #1 on this board! I was originally looking for just the 4G61t engine to put into a 1Ga Talon for better economy. When I couldn't find an engine locally I ended up buying the Colt instead. I've since rebuilt just about everything on the car and put almost another 100k miles on it since. It's at 298,xxx miles now.

Saved my colt from a junk yard in 03, Back then I didnt even know they made turbo colts, I had only recognized it because a kid in my high school had one. I thought it was cool because it was different than all the damn civics everyone had. So I bought it, got it running in 04, Sold it in 08, bought it back in 2010, Sold it in 2011, Bought it back in 2014. Lol never letting it go again.

I saw a Colt on Ebay owned by Boscoe(something like that) and I liked it. It was white and made like 425HP. I made a deal to buy it but he sold it before the deal was done. A year late I found the blue Summit and decided to build one myself. Mirageman helped me when I needed stuff and some moral support when I lost interest (many times, damn A.D.D.) When I see my join date of 2006 I am like, did it really take me this long to build it??? Well now my son can drive it when he gets his license, in 19 months!
Thanks to all that have answered my posts over the years.
Mark

Win, had no idea I helped you with your build but that really made me feel good because your car is awesome. So glad you stuck with it. Also letting a 19 y/o get behind the wheel of a car like that is about the same thing as dropping him off at a whore house with std's  . Just tell him to be extra, extra careful.

2005 was a good year, looks like you, me, and Nate joined the same year.

I bought mine from a buddy that was going to a swap, I had a 2g at the time and wanted to go faster but didn't have a lot of money so I figured if I put all my good parts from my 2g in a colt it would go faster. It worked!

I just noticed this thread and ironically I joined exactly eight years ago today. Happy Anniversary to myself! :party1:
