.... just watch out when the bill collector comes around. Food for thought.

SHOULD it ever come to it. I sure hope it doesn't.

They look pretty cool on the inside. Got a ride in one recently, but with a very bad driver, so we were all puckering up.

Not just because we were headed for Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Hell.

yeah I hear that.. but forbid anything happens to them and I get the car.. there life ins will pay it off... only bad thing is its a 1.4l.. turbo auto... my mirage is 1.6 turbo auto..bigger turbo and more boost than theres.. and as much as it is fun its still not quick.. I told my friend im gonna steal the car for a few hours to go visit them and put a mbc on it lol... but I was just playing around.. they dont need it to be fast. dad will be 80 in sept..and he wont let my mom drive.. so slow is good in this case.

Keep an eye on the electricals in the Dart. They kill alternators amazingly quick. It is a warranty repair, but something ain't right with those Fiat's.

yeah I would go Toyota or Nissan for their reliability, but every car these days is gonna have some issue. GM's v6 engines are good unless the lower intake manifold gasket goes, but that's a pretty easy fix. I have a focus wagon that I enjoy, has had some small issues lately, but I plan on getting another 80k out of it and it currently has 169k on it. I have found that googling common issues on the vehicle that im looking at helps in making a decision as to if the repairs might be worth it.

just thoughts for food.

Get a late 90's-early 00's Honda or Toyota. Find one with under 100k for 4k and they're set for a long time. We're looking at picking up a brand new car for the gf to drive and it'll probably be a KIA. A local dealer doubles to the 10yr/100k factory warranty to 20yr/200k and that includes the 2015's that run 14K out the door. I figure we can't go wrong with that kind of a deal.

there is a ford dealer in superior WI that has the 20year/200k warranty on all new fords purchased. I have been really tempted to get in on that!

Yeah, and I bet all services must be performed in house at the exact intervals to receive coverage past the base OEM mileage/timeframe. It's always the same formula in the car business. ALWAYS.

I know some people with Hyundais (10 year 100000 miles) Well the dealer has them under the impression they have to buy everything including tires in house. Despite the fact that the dealer put these ridiculous over sized chrome rims on the bright red Accent wagon, (at the owners expense of course) with obscene rear camber, and they keep cooking through rear tires. The dealer just makes them buy another set, and sells them another alignment. SMH

I made sure that I could take it to any ford dealer and have the warranty be covered by them and was told that it was like any other warranty and as long as it was a ford dealer it would be fine. Now I didn't read the fine print, but I have heard those stories.
