Hey guys, i'm trying to order some parts for my transmission from the local mitsu dealer. They tell me they can't access the database without a VIN code. Can someone please help out a fellow member. I promise there is nothing nefarious about this request. Send me the VIN via PM for security. Thanks in advance.

Maybe browse autotrader or ebay for cars for sale? Sometimes the VIN is listed.

What are you looking for? I have an older copy of Mitsu ASA (dealer software). I can look up the part numbers you need.

I have a 91 f5m33 trans that i need internals for. I'd like to get some upgraded parts if possible.

1. 3rd gear on main shaft (would like something stronger than stock but will settle for oem)

2. Brass/bronze synchro rings (double synchros a possibility?)

3. Both endshaft nuts

4. 1-2 shift fork

5. 3-4 shift fork

6. Trans seal kit (axles,input shaft,shift shaft)

7. 3rd gear intermediate shaft

Most dsm transmissions have the VIN etched on them. It'll be along the edge where it bolts to the block.

I can only look up and tell you what the part numbers are for whats in there. I can't tell you what's double syncro'd and what isn't. I could possibly look up Evo parts, but I couldn't tell you if they'd fit.

There is a couple different variations they made during 91. If you can get that vin off the case, I can help you out! I'd hate to give you numbers and you buy stuff that wont work.

Thanks Chris! I found it on the edge of the bellhousing right above the km210 stamp. I had no idea it would be there.

Natedog, i edited my parts list to include 3rd gear intermediate shaft. I understand that you can only get oem part numbers, which is fine. Here's the VIN: 4e3cs54u4le084857

Thats a vin for a 90 Talon. I can't look up Eagle stuff in the Mitsu software. I can give you a tone of numbers and what months they were used, but thats really no help...

Guess that's why they ask for the VIN. :P

Sh*t! Thanks for trying though. I'm gonna try the local chrysler dealership and see where that gets me.
