Hey guys give me your opinion on this. A year and a half back i parted out my previous turbo setup, One of the parts sold was a set of 1,600 injectors working in perfect condition. Now after a year and a half back i got a pm of the guy i sold the injectors wanting a refund or something because apparently they don't work now. I told him that i can't help him because i don't know what hapend to the injectors in that year and a half that he go them. I'm i right or no??

most if not all used parts are considered "SOLD AS IS" with NO warranty....some people (me included) usually give a short warranty of maybe a few days to a week unless they say up front they wont install them for a month or so.. then its no warranty... but to say they want there money back 1 1/2 years later... no way.. u are right in refusing a refund..

That's my thinking. I'm an honest person and have a 100% positive feedback on every forum i'm registered and even ebay. So thank god i'm not the only that thinks like that. Thanks Steve!!

Like i said to him, If this whole ordeal would happen as soon as he got em i would refund him instantly but how the hell he expect that i take care after a year and a half.

You forgot to mention they were taken out of the unopened box you sent them in, placed into the car on the dyno and immiadetly the car would barely run. We tested the resistance and there was a dead injector. Ive had injectors sitting in the frozen garage in a pile of dirt for 5+ years that i threw in a car and ran fine. I find it hard to believe it just went bad sitting inside my house in the unopened box for a year. You also forgot to mention there were 5 members of this board including JP that saw all of this happen and can verify the story. Believe me I know he is not obligated to do anything, but was hoping he would stand by his word and atleast work something out, but I got a solid fruit and banana off its not my problem anymore. I've been around this forum and others a long time and I can honestly say this is the last forum where I thought I would be ripped off. I like to usually trust people, but the way he handled this was pretty eye-opening and disturbing how some people operate.

And they we're in good working condition when i send them over to you. Is not my fault that you had to wait a year and a half to test them

so they sat in a unopened box for a year or more... if they had gas residue or anything when they were packed up..sitting so long would make them not work right.... have you tried to get them cleaned/flow tested? I understand what your saying. but as the op stated its been a long time.. if they are flow tested and come back as just dirty then all is good... if they come back as un-usable the only thing I woud suggest is maybe a 50% refund? just my suggestion to help try to solve this.

I can see both sides here. If I were in this situation, I'd at least offer some money back to the person. A perfect example was a transaction that I had with slowdsm up above me. I bought a transmission off him a LOOOOONG time ago, for a 1g AWD DSM. It was in unknown condition, he hadn't driven on it, but it shifted through its gears ok just sitting on the ground. He sent me the trans, it looked great, I installed it in my car, and it grinded 2nd and 4th gear like crazy, so bad the car was barely driveable. He could have easily told me to go pound sand, because it was sold AS-IS, and it was in unknown condition, but he gave me a chunk of my money back, and I was very satisfied with the deal.

I was going to offer him the option that he send em to me and i would had gottem them tested and cleaned but the way he flip this over and calling me a piece of shit because i was a little concerned about the time that passed. Now im stuck with a negative feedback.

That's what I was thinking. You guys should send them out to be cleaned and if they come back fine, it's because they sat so long.

As I said, this is a shitty situation for both sides I understand that. The first thing I suggested when I contacted you was for me to send them to get cleaned and checked and you never even once considered that an option until I posted here. You told me it was too long and you couldn't and didn't need to do anything. I am still 100% ok with this option to get this resolved. I asked before I bought them if you were running e85 or pump gas and you said pump so I had no reason to think they would be overly gummed up or need to be cleaned immediately.

Considering that brand new performance parts frequently do not work right out of the box it should be no surprise that there was an issue with used injectors.

Had the injectors been brand new and you attempted to get your money back from a vendor 18 months after the purchase they would definitely have told you pound salt or to try your luck with the original manufacturer who would have probably told you to pound salt as these are performance parts.

These things happen.

For curiousity's sake, what was the resistance on the injector in question, and what is the normal spec for it? Dead short? Open windings?

Corrosion could be a possibility, that would not show up until the sit long enough to "grow" on the inside.

It's a great idea to have the injectors sent out for inspection and can't cost that much to diagnose what the potential cause is.

What is the cost of a single injector new?

Can all four injectors be sent out for flow testing/diagnosis, then buy a new injector from said company with confirmed matching flow.

Were the connector pins checked for a case of green corrosion?

I know you guys know your stuff, just throwing this out there.

I was thinking something about those lines, because i taked them out functioning 100% and now after a year and a half later they don't work? It's not my fault that the op didn't use them over that period of time.

The resistance on the first three were all dead on at .48 and the last one was .08 if I remember correctly. I have it written down somewhere. I'm 100% in for sending them to get checked out. If it's a corrosion issue from sitting for too long, which I highly doubt, I'll swallow the loss. If it's an electrical issue that could not happen from sitting in a box, then I'll be pretty pissed and hopefully he'll step up and take care of it. Anybody have a recommended place to send them???
