Here you go guys, I just figured out a cheap way to GPS locate your car. Quite handy if some scumbag steals it!

Do you have an old android phone that takes SIM cards laying around? There's a company that's making sim cards for alarm systems that could be put into a phone. AlarmSim makes a cheapass sim card, no fees, just 15cents/text, you only have to send a text from it once every 60 days to keep it activated and it's prepaid. Wire in a 12v phone charger under the dash, plug the phone in so it's constantly charging with GPS turned on. Then you can use google's "Android Device Manager" site and BAM, gps for you car. If the phone is empty of misc apps, it'll have a runtime of a couple days even if the thieves yank the battery.

What you do with the thieves once you find them is up to you.

That's pretty smart, but I don't care if somebody steals my car(s). They can have those shitcans.

Some things might be worth locating quickly.

Even if to have the police swoop in while you film the mayhem that ensues.

Good idea.
