ever package I have gotten delivered from them in the past 8 months have had some kind of issue.. the latest being my head that was suppose to be delivered today... they charged the shipper more when he brought it in.. than he the quote he got...
then I look up the delivery status today to see if it was out for delivery.. now somehow it had a hold on it saying that I changed the delivery date.. which i did no such thing.. this has happened a few times now..
one of the deliveries was returned to the fed ex hub here in town because the driver (who has been to my place and has talked about my cars before.) didnt have the C for trailer number and said he didnt know where it went..my neighbor was sitting outside and talked to him.. the driver just had to ask where I lived and all would of been good...
fed ex brag that they are better than ups.. personally I dont like either anymore.. its like they dont give a crap about items unless there the pricy overnight letter packages..

ok rant over..

Steve

^^^^ Word!! They didn't deliver my mail for 4 days last week. No reason, they said I didn't have any mail for that time. I have owned this house since 1996, NEVER have I gone more than 2 days without mail. Funny how the entire street didn't receive any. Then on Saturday, I received about 30 items in the mail. They are horrible, and there is no recourse.

They all have their issues, before Christmas it took USPS almost a month to get a small flat rate box from NC to OH. I really did think they lost it but the guy finally received it. I will say this, they deliver a ton of packages on time. But like everything else, one slip up and we're furious. I'm guilty of this too. Maybe it'll be there tomorrow Steve. Makes me think we should have went with USPS Parcel Post, it was $20 cheaper and in the end, probably would have taken the same amount of time to get there.

I've worked with just about every shipping company you can think of. UPS is easily the best. I don't even think twice before shipping stuff on my own, I always use UPS. DHL is great for international shipments. FedEx and USPS suck for everything.

Always had good luck with UPS and Priority mail (usps), fedex is horrible though. My last fedex delivery was tools from harbor freight, the package was "delivered" but never showed up. After dicking around with fedex for 3 weeks, "we'll do a trace on it!" swore the lady every time I called, I never got a call back. Went through HF and got the same bs runaround. Lady there swore she'd take care of it and do a reship with 2nd day airmail. Called back a week later and "oh I don't remember saying I'd reship it...but I'll authorize it now." Another week later and I call the bag back, "oh I authorized a reship, I guess they must not have sent it out 2nd day...".

tl;dr, fedex is an awful shipping company.

Here's the funny thing about UPS, their main hub for this area is less than 2 miles from my house but somehow every single time I have a package to be delivered from them, it doesn't show up at my house until between 5 and 7 PM. I've put holds on packages at the warehouse before saying that I'll come and get it and not once have I been allowed to pick it up. It always goes out on the truck no matter what. I used to work for the USPS as a seasonal helper at one of their main sorting facilities here in Warrendale, PA and they have to be one of the MOST incompetent and unorganized shipping companies that I've ever seen. I mean, of course there's always going to be a certain error percentage because of faulty machinery or just plain human error, but I worked in many different departments and the room that they call "rewrap" was the best. They have a whole room FULL of people's personal belongings with a partial piece of packaging and MANY valuables and we were supposed to try to find where they were meant to be shipped by what was left of the packages. I mean, anything you could possibly think of from Christmas and birthday cards full of money and gift cards to electronics (iPods and DVD players) to medication to clothing to anything that you could possibly think of that you or your family members would send you and there's almost never a match for an address. But I guess that's like that at every major shipping company. We all have horror stories but until you actually work in one of these shipping/sorting centers, that's when you see the real horror behind it all.
