"TMZ reports that Walker was in a Porsche Carrera GT when the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle. It then slammed into either a post or a tree and then burst into flames and exploded."

Really? It's a Porsche Carrera GT, it didn't just catch fire and explode under "normal" driving conditions or an event while at normal highway speeds. Mess with the bull and get the horns!

Really bums me out. Serious sad note as it coincided with the time I first got to drive my Colt, since being rebuilt, with my son and my parents at the same time.
Positive note: They had already filmed Fast 7. Paul was premiering another film also, mid-December.

I can only hope they were both unconscious after the impact.

I'm assuming it was a quick death, possibly before the car caught fire. The idiot who was driving is being described as a "professional racer" but in reality, he was a financial adviser for 20 years. He most likely was showing off for Walker and killed both of them. Such a sad way to go, he was only 40 and he has a teen daughter. All because some jackass thought he could drive.

It's pretty scary to think about, because I know I've trusted my life in someone else's hands and put myself into situations JUST like this one plenty of times. I've also been that guy taking people for rides and potentially endangering them. Granted, I don't have a crazy-fast Porsche, and I usually don't hit triple-digit speeds... I'm definitely bummed that he's gone. He was a true car guy, even more-so than his F&F character portrayed.

I agree Tony, it does make you think. I know I've acted crazy back in the day and rode with people that did the same. Amazing how one wrong decision can end in death. My heart felt prayers go out to his friends and family.

I think we have all acted crazy.. but what gets me upset is people dont research anything and just post up stupid crap.. some say it was his fault because he was doing 100+ mph.. but yet there is a video from some cell phone right after it caught on fire and there is a sign saying 15 mph..

no he wasnt the best actor out there.. but I think he was a very good one.. everyone has there own taste in music and movies.. but when someone passes away why is it that there are always people who make fun of the situation? or try to make it worse than it really was/is.

rant over. :toimonster:

You don't completely obliterate a Porsche like that doing 15mph. You only see that kind of damage when someone does triple digit speeds into a stationary object.

I wish people could be satisfied with just feeling how quick a car can be instead of seeing how fast it can go. I watched the Top Gear when they tested that GT and even the STIG had a hard time controlling it.

After 9 years as a Forensic Photographer for the RCMP...you realize that no matter how good you think you are, there's ALWAYS something out there waiting to prove you wrong.

I hate the F&F movie series (except the first one, awesomely campy), and I generally don't give a rat's ass about celebrity death, but a little girl is suddenly without her Dad because of speeding. That's the biggest tragedy :(.

That's gotta be an interesting job...

I agree. Anytime I take people for rides in my car, I will at the most do a pull to the top of 3rd. Usually it's a quick blast through 1st and 2nd. and people get the idea. Granted, I only have ~400whp, and AWD.

It was an interesting job, but I transferred out a few years back. Some people can cope with all the death and suffering, but it took me 9 years to figure out it wasn't for me. Got pretty dark there, near the end. The shit that's burned into my head isn't pretty :(.

I do data entry now, and work part time as a mechanic/tuner. The sun is out and life is good again, lol :).
