Honestly, how can anyone pick on the way the new Mirage looks? Have you guys seen the other Mirages that we have all came to love so much? When was the last time a hot girl flagged you down on the road asking you to pull over so that she could check out your 3g? Never

None of these cars are "lookers" from the factory. They all need to be lowered, some nicer wheels and such. The new Mirage is no different. Ten years from now some of us will be cramming Evo X engines and drivetrains in them once those parts are a little more affordable.

I must be one of the few that like the stlyings. There are rumers of the 2016 ones being offered in a sedan that is turbo. There is already someone 4g swapping one.

Mirage

The super-efficient Mirage is one of several cars expected to get a frontal redesign with a new grille and fascia along with an updated rear end. What’s more is the Mirage Sedan is expected to join its hatchback sibling sometime in the 2016 calendar. Both cars could get the option for a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine based on feedback from Mitsubishi dealers that have tested the sedan.

Came across this today while searching for something. It does look quite a bit better than the standard Mirage. Seems to be a limited edition thing for another country though. :x

yes the sedan is coming to na, and it is even lighter, still ugly though, and obviously not as practical
i dont think a 4b11 swap is possible.
i took a tape measure to the dealership. however, i suppose one could likely tube frame front clip and possibly then there would be room.
its just like the bay from a geo metro, there just isnt enough room for a 4g63t. its not wide or long enough.
i was seriously considering buying one of these ugly pos, cause its just cheap transportation, i dont really care that its hideous. but i think ill just wait a few more years and ill get my wifes lancer as a beater, and she can upgrade.
if they came out with a turbo, damn. i would be stoked to buy one in twenty years when i can get it for nothing!!

The Mirage gets another face lift for next year. It's still not a looker but a lot better than the current version. Skip to the 8:55 mark unless you care to see what the new outlander sport looks like. FYI both just got new bumpers.

Still wouldn't think about buying one, I just don't get the styling. I would literally take any other new hatch over that thing aside from the options from Chevy (they somehow made them uglier than Mitsubishi). On top of being ugly as sin, they have zero resale value, no pep, nothing special and a plain interior to boot. And I'm sure the sedan is just as ugly.

If I was looking for a super eco, cheap car, I'd most likely go VW or Hyundai/Kia. 16-17k will buy a pretty nice car, that doesn't look like you just bought the shittiest, cheapest thing on the lot.

I'd probably actually buy one second hand if I could save 3-4 grand or more. I really don't think they look that bad and the design is growing on me. Right now we're happy with our older Mitsu stuff but props to Mitsu for keeping the name alive.

I've also said it before, our 3g's never were the best looking cars out there.

They've shoehorned the Evo X drivetrain in a new Mirage so give it a few more years and we all have newer platforms to swap. Haha

Here's also a video for your tastebuds.

That video is everything right about what should have happened to this little car when they revamped it. So, it remains a unicorn for the next 25 years!
