You all know I made the cam lock timing tool which was prompted by necessity. I wanted a better option than what was currently available so I made my own. I am now needing a tool to loosen/tighten the castle/star plug on the oil pump. If I went through the effort to make a tool for this operation is there a demand?

I would take one.

I've cracked front covers before trying to work on that nut.

Just to be clear, I'm not selling them. I just posted a picture of the one I made for inspiration. If the OP wants to copy my design I have no issue with that.

I have been toying with how to do this and right now the best thing I have figured is to modify an existing socket. I don't have a cnc mill and can only imagine what the cost would be to have these made. I did get the part number for the OEM one and believe you can get one shipped for somewhere in the $30 ball park. I am just going to buy a socket and grind the notches as necessary for my use. I doubt I will want to make more than just one, sorry guys.

When making one, would it have to have all of the notches? I would think just two directly across from each other would be enough to work.

I am just going to buy a socket that is the same diameter as the plug and grind notches in it. I will keep track of costs and post a picture of what I end up with.
