Dropped my 1G fwd flywheel off the get resurfaced. I told him I need the step to be between .609-.612, ever wrote .609-.612 in permanent marker and pointed that
out to him in case he forgot. Returned today to pick the flywheel up and pointed to the .609-.612 and asked him where it landed. He said nowhere close and questioned where I got those numbers. Told me if I went with those numbers it wouldn't work. Also told me if I wanted it to be cut that way I should have said something. DUH! Pointed
to the numbers and asked him why I wrote them on the flywheel in the first place?? This is my first time having a DSM flywheel machined so I thought maybe I wrote the numbers down wrong, I know I quadrupled checked what is spec for a DSM flywheel though. So I got out my phone and started searching and again found the .609-.612 spec. He then tells me you can't trust what you read on the internet. More arguing and he says I should call the clutch manufacture to see what they say, fine. I call and they say .610. Why?!?

Same here, we had my flywheel turned for my old 90 300ZXTT and when I went to pick it up the morons even surfaced the dowel pins. I guess they didn't have the tool to remove them. It really does suck when you are super picky and need something done correctly and even warn them in advance and they still manage to screw it up.

I wouldn't have paid for it. If they can't do something to the specs you give them, they shouldn't be running a shop.

.610 is the magic # for clutch disengagement, if the shop cant figure out how to do that, there no good for you. Last time i had a flywheel resurfaced it cost 40$

I brought in the crank from the original motor in my turbo Colt, wanted it spec'd and if needed, a polish.
Wait almost two weeks, and then show up. They polished the crank without asking, and machined the flywheel that was attached as a means to keep crank upright and from falling over. Now I have $140 worth of services and it has not gone back into the block since 2005. I have it sitting all lubed up in my basement, the pair are shrink wrapped and waiting reinstallation; whenever I decide to put the 1.6L back into action it will be ready to go with bearings and gaskets, and a stock lightened and resurfaced flywheel!

Yep! IF they can't do it, they should no-bid.
