| Post subject: | Pics: The ULTIMATE Street Car 10 Second Daily Driven Mirage |
This car belongs to a good friend of mine...and its probably the sickest daily driven street legal car I've ever seen. It has run 10.40's@132 on street tires (the ones in these pictures) with 93 octane/methanol. It currently has around 550whp, tilton carbon clutch, gt35r tuned by brad brooks with aem. As you can see by the pictures, the car doesn't have a cage which means its impossible to run more than two passes with the car before Jerry (the owner) is asked to leave the track. At this time he is currently not allowed back at Bradenton Speedway until he has a 10 second approved cage. The car is lower in the front because of two things. One, the springs in the front have sagged a little below where the car once sat. Second, the car squats so dramatically (it weighs 2500lbs) that the exhaust drags on the ground for the first 50ft upon launching. The motor is a built 2.4L stroker setup, cams, cyclone intake, custom alky control based methanol injection setup which allows for 32-34psi with 93 octane, Jerry Built transmission, Tilton carbon/carbon clutch (costs about 3,000 dollars), 4 spider center differential, custom fmic, and a plethora of custom parts which would take too long to describe. Jerry fabricated a 4bolt rear end into the car which makes it all wheel drive (for those unfamiliar with dsm's) and is one of the only mirage's i've ever seen with this conversion. I have driven this car (i'm one of the few who have been lucky enough) and it absolutely flies. The difference between most 10 second cars and this 10 second car is that it runs 10's on the street and it's setup is unchanged at the track. Meaning, the tires are the same, the tire pressure is the same, the boost/fuel/alky setup is the same along with everything else remaining unchanged when taken to the track. All 4 tires break loose under 80mph as soon as full boost is reached which is nearly instantaneous with the current setup. The cyclone intake manifold is restrictive up top (probably preventing 600whp) but spools the gt35r almost immediately. Overall, the car is absolutely insane and i consider myself fortunate to have ridden in and driven the car. I'll let the pictures do the talking. |

Very Nice its amazing what running a 60% plus Alckey will do for a car lol. looks very clean. I only know of one other car going as fast doing the same and its owned by Brad but he has AWD and its a 2G, that thing is a sleeper and a half lol |

corey, you've probably talked with brad about jerry's car... its funny, because brad become convinced the alcohol would work after tuning jerry's car up to 35lbs with the setup acting much like c16. and to think...jerry's car could make another 50-75whp if he changed the manifold's and went with a slightly crazier setup. |

Yeah I was over Brad's house saturday for him to take a look at my car and I also got to see his meth setup, which is the exact setup I had already planned. Like I've posted before, Brad runs 36psi on pump and meth with zero counts of knock in his 2g. His next setup is gonna be boarderline retarded whenever the turbo comes in. Jerry's car looks absolutely phenomenal and I was told bout it a while back but never got to see any pics of it. Thanks for posting the pics cause his car is an inspiration for us all. |

Yea he called me up the day he got back from FL talking about the alcy injection. Its without a doubt the best street set-up ever. Crazy HP on tap, as long as you can keep from drainig the meth tank. I just like how clean jerrys car is, I could make so much money with that thing it would be rediclus. Brad built another guys car whose got a copy of his motor and set-up in a slightly lighter car 1G and it just went 9.94 on turbo no alchy, so kinda gives you a glimps of what brads car will run. for $500 bucks or so for a kit one of the best mods ever as long as your carful.

the car you are referring to must be harold's. i'm convinced alky injection is the wave of the future for those looking for the ultimate in "streetable" performance. |

Minus the hood pins and the holes in the bumper, it's really a sleeper. |

Harold just ditched the 2.4 cause he lost 3 flywheels due to vibration. Now he's running the 2.0 and pt67 that was on the 2.4. They all run the same shit, pt67s (they meaning Harold, Brad, Andre). Harold made 647 I think with the 2.0 and pt67. He was running mid 10s at MIR last weekend so it seems like the car is running decent at least, not quite the 700awhp he was making on the 2.4 but not too shabby for a 2.0.

Actually, pure ethanol has an octane rating of 115. You are thinking of 'E85' (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) with the octane rating of 105. |

550hp and he's missing a lug nut!?!?! Regardless, that's an awesome car. It's impressive to see those kind of numbers in a 100% street setup. Badass. |
