For 4 days I had the high bid on a set of heads that would whoop ass on my engine. With 40 seconds left, some degenerate of society who should be castrated and sent to live on rhode island outbid me leaving me no time to re-bid a higher amount. I personally hope the heads are cracked and upon unloading them, fall out and crush one of (or both but that's hoping) the guy's feet. Any posts advocating these snipers will result in me questioning that posters sexual orientation.

Nah, you see, if you come in and bid during the last 40 seconds knowing full well that the only reason you'll win is because you didn't give the other person enough time to bid, then you're just being a POS scumbag.


The thing that bugs me is that I think I know who it is and he's rockin small block power (and doing it well), wtf is he doin with with bb heads.

you're just pissed because he played the game the way it's supposed to. you should also know that he just saved you a bunch of money... if everyone was all nancy pancy "oh, i'll bid with 10 days left of bidding" then people will just get into a bidding war. while this is GREAT for the sellers, it sucks for bidders like you and me. the only way to get things off of ebay (most of the time) is to snipe them. it's a simple as that. if you don't like it, then don't use e-bay cause you'll win absolutly nothing as long as someone else wants the item you're after. now if you're lazy and don't want to snipe yourself, there are some sites devoted for sniping for you. you give em your username and password and they bid for you with x amount of seconds left of the auction.

When I really want something on ebay, I always have 2 or more windows open with higher bids all set. All I have to do is click "bid" if someone happens to outbid me in the last 5-10 seconds.

I bought my Palm M100 like that on ebay. I waited until there was like 30 seconds left and placed my bid. The other guy sent me an email after the auction was over telling me that his car was faster than mine because he was so mad at me. I was laughing my @ss off.

On the other hand I have been outbid many times on stuff that I really wanted but I didn't get mad about it. It's just the way Ebay works.

Psh, there's no good deals on eBay anyways... You want deals, you wake up at 4:30 AM for the swap meets, and hunt with a flashlight, eBay is for when you're lazy and have money to piss.

It sucks that it happened and would have been a good deal for me but I've already got a couple new leads (on better heads) because of ranting like an idiot about this happening so it worked out well for me.

What bugs me more about eBay is guys who don't pay for expensive shit they just won from you, and the only reason you were selling it to begin with is because you were in a bind and needed the money. I currently have an 18G turbo that is on it's 5th listing. And I have been snipped before. It sucks when you really want something. But to sometimes make up for it is when he's lame, doesn't pay for it, and you get a 2nd Chance offer later on.

You guys realise you can actually go to a website and pay someone to snipe the bid for you 20secs before they close...

If you cant beat em, join em.

I got some sniping software now as well.

What makes me question what the seller was on when creating the auction is when they set a high reserve and then start the auction at a penny. Wtf is with that?

I wish ebay would adopt the method of "auction is over if the end time is past AND there is no activity for 5 minutes"
