I got 14b, 1 g injectos and sidemount. Running about 15psi, my car was not running good under load (no data logger to read knock).

Last night at the track I added 1 gallon o Xylene to half a tank of 91 octane cali gas. Wow - Added 6mph to my traps and lowered my et by 1s! Good enough to chase down stock evo 8s and run the same trap speeds as a STI.

Now I just have to get my car running right on 91 cali crap.

That's interesting, you added 15% of xylene and went 1s faster! 8) If my quick calculation isn't wrong, you increased the octane rating to 93 at least, probably more. :D

home deopt has it, you really need some kind of oil for a buffer because the stuff is a solvent and will eat through your fuel lines.

The reason why it made a big difference is because my car was detonating, if your car run perfect on pump gas the additional octane will do nothing for you.

Supposedly a up to a 30% mix of toulene/xylene is ok for fuel lines and other rubberparts

you can run it with marvel mystery oil(the big one)
it will ube the pump and lines and what not so the xylene doesn't dry it out.

Adding Xylene or Toulene is an "Old School" trick. Quite effective, but you do need to be a bit careful as both are corrosive and over time can cause damage to sensors, fuel lines, etc.

Note: 20% Xylene will raise 92 octane to about 97. So even if your car does run well, you should notice an improvement.

This has been around for quite some time, and has some interesting info in it:
