Post subject: | Prothane rear engine mount insert installed. |
Just installed the rear mount and I'm very happy. Reduced engine movement alot without NVH issues. Install was not hard, but took a little longer than I expected. After removing the 3 bolts that hold the mount I realized it wont come out without either dropping the crossmember it was bolted to or removing the bracket from the block. I removed the bracket from the block (just 2 bolts). The rubber portion of the stock mount has steel sleave around it that need to come out before putting in the new inserts. I used a saw to cut thru one of the sides from the inside and then used a screwdriver and a hammer to colapse the metal sleave until it fell out. The new insert slides right in, no press needed. Great mod for $35. |

I just ordered 2 rear mounts they're the the same if you compare them. Thats what I use right now and it works great.

Dsm inserts don't work unless you cut them to fit. |

WRONG!!! they actually do fit, you just have to find which ones do... like 2 tranny mounts, 1 rear mount and the front is just a tiny insert (garbage) so just fill that one. |

Not Wrong! The rubber part of the 61T mounts are smaller in diameter than those from a 63T. So What I had to do was cut the inserts to fit into the 61T mounts. I burned the whole rubber part out of the mount. I then cut the urethane mount to fit the hole, then stuffed it. |

i used a rear dsm mount for the rear mount. i used a dsm tranny mount for the timing belt mount and it will also fit the tranny mount. the front i filled with urethane, due to the fact that the dsm little piddly inserts do not fit a csm mount. basically, order 2 dsm tranny mounts, and 2 dsm rear mounts. it will work for all 4 with no or VERY minimal tramming (i had to trim nothing) freeze the urethane bushings and lube and squish in with a vice. |

Freeze, lube and squish with a vice. Oops left those steps out. Still worked for me though. |
