tried this stuff about 1000 miles ago in hopes that it would lessen my smoking problem, but had little faith that it would do anything....
now i can't make the car smoke when i try.
spent a couple weeks in complete disbelief every time i drove the car.
A+++

I hadnt realized so many of you have tried this product! :D I am glad to see that so many have had positive results with Restore. Heres another miracle additive i highly recommend: SeaFoam. If your lifters are tickin use this stuff! Cleans everything.
dah - why not just buy the new lifters?

I would if i needed new lifters! If they still rattle after seafoam does its magic then i would consider it. Otherwise its a lot cheaper to clean some varnished lifters and cure it just the same :wink:

This post talked me into trying it on my wifes beater car(Ford Tarus with 215k miles). Oil consumption went from 1 quart every 1200 miles to less than a quart down when I changed the oil at 3k. Gas milages seemed to go up a little but not really sure. I didn't put it in when I changed the oil, I wonder if there are any side effects of starting and stoping the use of it. Going to see what happenens now that I didn't add it. Greg

I'm not running updated lifters. The lifters tend to make the ticking noise due crap building up on them and making them stick. Seafoam cleans that crud hence no more noise. A product called Rislone works similarly. Marvel mystery oil and a slew of other products will due the same. Seafoam is my best choice based on my experience and others. Same with Restore.
