Those intercoolers, like just about every other eBay or China intercooler with a different name stamped on it will have straight through internal fins. While this is great for flow when FMIC space is limited and one needs to get a lot of boost through a small intercooler, but bad for efficiency in dissipating heat. I would HIGHLY recommend getting an intercooler that has offset and staggered internal fins, as the difference in efficiency is enormous. Check www.extremeturbosystems.com for such a core. They have done lots of custom stuff for CSMs in the past and have very reasonably priced intercoolers.

They're cheap and they work fine. If you are trying to blast a four digit graph on the dyno then they're not for you. If you are trying to make a decently fast car for cheap then its just what you want.

It is the cheapest Chinese crap you can buy and no it will not work as well as an ETS or Garrett core intercooler that's properly designed. If you want consistent AITs that don't climb during a pull then there are much better coolers out there. If you don't really care and are going to buy it anyway, why ask? I request the few minutes of my life back for thoroughly answering this question :)

haha no you are not wasting your time would you recomend a yonaka intercooler i see you went with one on your blue car? i like the look and size of that alot

That Yonaka core is almost surely identical to the Mishimoto and was one of the few things I really regretted for my build, other than losing interest and not finishing it :) I bought that cooler long before I knew any better and would've replaced it had I ever decided to finish the car. I'm trying to save you the wasted money since I've been there and learned better! As an aside, since that car is in the process of being parted out, I'd make you a hell of a deal on the intercooler kit if you decide to go the least expensive route.

300hp and an eBay FMIC go hand in hand. No need to blow crap tons of money on a name-brand IC. But take my answer with a grain of salt... I've never been faster than 13.1 and my FMIC is a Garrett... I'm a hypocrite...

300hp should be a relatively easy number to hit with the setup you are speaking of. But if for whatever reason you decide to turn the boost up to see what your setup can make a good intercooler is worth the money. I would try to find a good used intercooler before buying a mishimoto. If I hadn't spent the money on a good core myself there is no way I would have made 454hp on an evo 3 16g.

in my eyes its not worth it. cheap price = cheap design = cheap qualities... welds may break and now you have to repair or upgrade and lose the money on the crap one. spend the $200 extra and get something good and efficient

My CX Racing ebay intercooler's bead welds had perfect c's(the best you can get in the welding world). Much more than I can say for my Evo8 or starion intercooler. Just because its made in china doesn't mean that it is of lower reliability(although lots of china stuff sucks). In the end though I went with the lower quality evo-8 intercooler for best fitment, and sold the CX racing intercooler for what I bought it for, plus a BOV.

Mashimoto ZX tires are completely awesome, can't speak for anything from Mishimoto though.
