I got a Alpine headunit, Kenwood 4 ch amp, Alpine 2 way coaxials, Diamond HEX components, Audiocontrol EQ/line driver, and a secret toy and technique to creating some devestating lows w/out SUBS! yes thats right, NO SUBS! by the way.....the car isn't matted.....yet.......but still got great SQ...forgot to mention, i got myself a huge optima battery(relocated to the back), all cables and major terminals are all MONSTER CABLE. my power and ground cable is 2 gauge(monster cable) anl fuses, rca is worked over again to have even less distortion and sheilded. everything from the battery, amp, and even the motor is extra grounded.

That's cool, I guess....

But why wouldn't you want subs?

Cause i rather have a good heart pounding system without subs. Going against someone with a "sub/full system" and having a better system over them is more rewarding. Its like beating a STI with a NA motor. The glory is all yours, as long as your knowledge and tunning keeps you up.

So you're saying you have higher SPL levels than guys with subs...while you are running none?

That's remarkable, and either your asking for 1) trophies, or 2) a lot of blown speakers.

Im not even done with my system(although mines CAN play really loud). Im more into SQ over SPL. Why SPL? thats just for competition and its really expensive. All my low's notes hits as hard or harder then a couple of my friends cars that has one or two subs(it also sounds a LOT cleaner). Im the type of person that likes listening to lots o music but mainly trance. Things like hip hop mainly focuses on very few signals to hit, mainly lows. and a lot of others have good vocals. Trance on the other hand usually covers all that. I tune my toys using audiocontrol and listening to a bunch of different songs and types, then after that, i put in some "demos" to finialize how i like it everytime i get something new.

Note: I have never went into competitions. I should go, but imma wait untill i finish. If i start to mat this car, imma use at least 150 SQ FT this time. My last car...I matted and sprayed down the whole car using about 100 sq ft and almost 10 cans. I only used 4 speakers at the time and it sounded like i had a 10 or 12! Its too bad theres not a lot you can do about sound goinging through the glass. Next time i'll put another layer of UV and the darkest tint i can get.[/quote]

Ive got two Aurasound Bass-Shakers hooked to my surround sound and mounted to the frame of my sofa. :D Remember that shot in jurrassic park where the water ripples as the T-Rex is coming? My coffee table picks up enough vibration to do that. HeHe. I guess these were originally designed for automotive use, but never really went over big. They hit some seriously low freq's.
These are also known as tactile transducers.

it doesn't have the spl, it just "sounds"like you have a sub.
it plays with the fundamentals used to make a person hear sounds, that don't exist.
if you wan't spl, it's ALL in the box!!(4000wrms doesn't hurt either) 8)

Yes, i do hear the sounds that makes it sound as if i have a sub, but I also see my mirrors rattle, and even I feel it, so is this real bass? you decide...im not saying it pounds that crazy, but much better then most people running no subs
