how many miles are on the head?? coz i dont want to throw a fairly recently rebuilt head on and blow up my bottom end....gotta remember i have around 70,000 miles on my head and 285,000 miles on my bottom end.....throw me a price for your top-end and a price for just the intake....you got the 12v head right?

k...coz i was like WTF...then it clicked that the 12v and 8v TB have diff bolt patterns......also could i get away with swapping 12v upper intake manifold and bolting it onto the 8v head? so i cant do the 1.8 tb.....or do i need to do the whole conversion?
I believe the 12 valve intake is a single casting while the 8 valve intake is a two piece. Port shape and sizing is completely different as well.

the head... has alot of km's on it... 280 000...
the engine is still strong i still get awesome mileage, doesn;t burn oil.
i'm assuming you'll need the exhast mani? its cracked but the car passed emission with flying colors.
i wont decline any reasonable offer. its a 4g15... cant be worth that much.
i'm just worried about shipping to you... your a good 4500km away.
if you buy the stuff, i mind as well give you all the intake stuff.
of course everything will be included, i'll just unbolt it from the head, take off any wires/line and put it in a box.
let me know man.
the #4 injector needs new seals... if you floor it, it bogs out... i put some some seals from my 450cc injectors and they worked great. i could chirp the tires going into second. but the seals wore off and now it leaks again.

reading up on old posts, i came across this. I read the top 2 posts and called the local wrecker. they had a TB in stock so my bro and i went for it. got it and tried to put it on. no luck. reading further, i realized the problem is in the 8 valve head... so, like hondahunter, i am wondering what mods would be necessary to get the 12 valve intake mani' on the 8 valve head. my bro is a great welder, and we have the manifolds to spare. is it as simple as cutting the flange off and weelding the different one on, porting it and voila?

No much more than that because all the electronics on the TB are different...

D*MN, to adapt it would increase the volume, right? so is there any way to get a bigger throttle body on the 8 valve? can it be bored out or anything? this is a key part of out increase overall engine flow idea! filter, intake, TB, portmatching intake mani', port/polish, port matching exh. mani', 2.5 all the wayback. this seriously impedes the flow

i have faith in the cobined genius of the people on these boards...

The intake from the 8 valve wont fit on the 12 valve. Different port design, spacing, and sensors are different on the TB.

Of course the TB can be bored by a machine shop but that will cost $$$ you could probably bore it +5 mm and then port match your Intake mani...

Making the TB fit and wiring in the sensors isnt so bad. Even tho the TB isnt a direct match like the 12 valve, it can be done. The only real difference is is splicing the sensor wires.

i recently found a throttle body off of an 1.8liter eclipse on ebay....i bought it for my 89 colt - 8 valve....the installation of it will be complete tomorrow, all the connectors and hoses are the exact same, so i think it will work great......i'll let all know how it goes tomorrow, just thought i'd share

hmm. I thought the 89 8valve uses a different TB, bolt pattern etc.
Whats your year, make, model engine, code, etc.
If you have a 8 valve engine that will accept the 1.8l TB, i know lots of guys here would like to know as the intake may be different. :-? Maybe theres hope yet HondaHunter.
IMHO the 12 valve engine has a lot easier upgrade path.
