I believe that it's 4-1-2-3

so do you mean, that the 1st plug in the coil goes to #4, 2nd plug to #1 and so on?

"I believe that it's 4-1-2-3"

so if you labled the cylinders from left to right 1-4 does that mean that cylinder 1 goes to coil plug 2, cylinder 2 goes to coil plug 3, cylinder 3 goes to coil plug 4, and cylinder 4 goes to coil plug 1?

thanks im just kinda confused.

I think you're right, except for the cylinder labeling. Cylinder #1 is right beside the timing belt. So the numbers go from right to left.

For the archives:

On 4G6x the firing order is 1-3-4-2.

The outputs on the ignition coil(s) is 4-1-2-3, 4 being closest to the front of the engine and 3 being closest to the firewall.

As 4G6x use a waste spark system, cylinders 1&4 and cylinders 2&3 are fired together.
If cylinder 1 is to be fired, 4 will fire also. Therefore, you could also route you wires 1432, for example.

This system is known more accurately as a 2-Channel ignition system. This also means to properly upgrade it you need two ignition amplifiers. This is why most upgraded plugs and wires alone sometimes hamper performance. The spark also needs to be boosted, and done so properly.

2-channel-system is the correct and official designation, I think. I wouldn't want to tamper with the stock ignition system, though, and go aftermarked it the need arises.
