I know there is a couple guides in the info archives but all the pictures are gone that the text references and its making me a little confused. Is there any way I can get someone to update one of the posts or maybe post some pictures of their splicing. The car I bought had it pretty much done I just want to double check everything and so I know what was done in case of troubleshooting later on. Thanks!

Moulin13 has a cool diagram on page 2 of his build.

That does help some. One question though. My csm c20 plug only has 3 wires in it. It's missing the thick black/yellow wire...and I can't find it anywhere. Ugh...this wiring stuff is a nightmare...

I believe only the manual csm's had that 4th wire, the autos did not. Or maybe it was the other way around. When I build the adapter harness I take the thick white wire out of the white/blue DSM connector and use it, it'll snap right into the csm plug. It's unused on the dsm plug anyway.

I actually make plug and play adapters if you don't want to bother.

Well my issue is that a lot of the wiring was done already but then torn apart then something else tried and then torn apart again. I have an unmodified 90 colt that has 4 wires in the 4 prong plug. The car the swap is in was originally an automatic I believe and I can only find 3 wires in the 4 prong plug. How much is a plug and play adapter?

$53 shipped. Are the engine harness connectors still there or did the previous owner hardwire it?

Still there I believe. Think I will take a picture of what is there and see if it will be possible to do it with the harness.

In all honesty...do you think I am better off getting a new engine harness and new dash harness and starting over? There is just so many wires running all over and the colors aren't matching right and so much has been cut and spliced together I can't even figure out where thins were originally supposed to go...

That wouldn't be a bad idea if you could find both in good shape. I could possibly grab a csm dash harness for you.

I may have to take you up on that as last time I was in the junk yard it was slim pickens. I am going to check my yard before I decide to have you look as there is some other things I'd like to look for too. I may also need a swap harness too but I got a 90 and I saw you needed the plugs that attach to the engine harness correct?

I actually came across a 90 a few months ago and snagged the connectors since they're so hard to come by. So I have enough to do one adapter harness.

Ok I believe I still have your PayPal from when I bought that engine from uou. It's your username @live.com correct? When you make the harnesses do you cut the plugs and solder new wires between the leads from the plugs or do you pull the pins out and make all new ones? Also how long do you think it'll be between me sending the money to be receiving it do you think it'll take?

I reuse the existing wires. Since they're on the inside of the car they are still soft and pliable so no need to replace them. It usually takes me a day or two to fab up an adapter and get it in the mail. I actually didn't realize this was you, wasn't thinking  . I've bought, sold and traded so much crap on this forum I sometimes lose track of who is who.

Just shoot me your name/address and I'll fab one up for you on the house since I owe you one.
