i pulled my struts because i have been coming up with a plan for diy coilovers. the kind where you slip a collar over the struts and add a 2.5" coilover spring. i noticed this little bump near the top of the strut.  it is going to be in the way of sliding my sleeve on so has anyone seen this? can i file it off? or is that the factory oil fill plug or something (only thing i could think of) i certainly don't want to ruin my struts  thanks for looking |

Probably a fill plug of some sorts, not sure if you can grind it off, you might open the fill hole back up. |

Just notch the sleeve a little to slip over it. Your weld will easily fill the notch. |
