Any one know what the highest hp stock dohc block 4g61 is?

People have done over 600whp on stock-block 4g63t engines. There's no reason why a 4g61t wouldn't hold that much power as well, or more.

There is one place that did 700 some thing on a 4g63. I got a really good deal on a rebuilt 4g61 dohc short block that I am going to put in my 91 summit. And I have a brand new td08h turbo that I was thinking of putting on it and see if I can't push that little 4g61.

People have done over 1,100whp on the 4g63 block, but of course they had built internals. The block itself was stock though.

If you have a non-turbo 4g61 block the internals are slightly different. There are a lot of arguments about this, but the pistons may be somewhat weaker, and there are no oil squirters in the non-turbo block, but that doesn't matter too much. If you know what you're doing and know how to tune it properly it will take a lot of abuse.

Jared did 499, I did 510. Stock 4g61 short blocks for both of us.
