I read somewhere once that if you have an original 89-92 colt/mirage turbo transmission you could use the all wheel drive dsm flywheel. Is there any truth to this?

It's the 6 bolt FWD Turbo flywheel/clutch you want.

It is possible to use an AWD flywheel with FWD transmission.
My friend has it on his silver Colt.
AWD flywheel is a bit smaller then FWD one.
I remember he had some problems getting it started, because the flywheel was grinding against something..
But ones he got that done, works good.

AWD fkywheel is 106 tooth. FWD is 110 tooth. The starter will grind away and become useless. As stated above, use the FWD flywheel

I think Boostfreak has a thread on here somewhere about this. He notched the bolt holes for adjustment I believe. Never tried it myself but I'm sure its possible. I'd just grab the FWD one since they are cheap and plentiful.

ok so a fwd dsm flywheel will work with my original colt turbo transmission? im asking because since the original colt turbo flywheel is differant from the fwd dsm one i have. and when i started looking up part numbers i keep getting a differant part number between the colt and dsm clutch. and the colt clutch disc appears smaller.

I think stock Colt uses 215mm diameter clutch and Eclipse uses 225mm.
Aldo it would be easier to talk with transmission numbers then FWD this and that..

Yes, the FWD 6-bolt DSM flywheel will fit in your original colt turbo transmission. You will need a DSM turbo clutch (225mm). Everything else bolts up.
