I saw a Galant GSR the other day at a local junk yard, same gear box, does anyone know what kind of transmission are these? Maybe a F5m22 since it's a NON turbo 4g63??

Googled that and it was apparently equipped in the rare C50 diesel as well:

From Germany:

Mitsubishi Colt C50 Lim3 C50 Lim3 1.8l (1779ccm) 08.86-06.92 44KW/60PS 4D65 Diesel

Found one in Sweden?, in a Galant:

KM206 F5M22 or F5M31 in non-turbo cars.

Your best upgrade will be to use an F5M33 from a FWD Talon/Eclipse/Laser from 90-92.5 with the 25 spline axle count if that is the axle spline count your trans has now. KM210/F5M31 is what the 2.4L Sonata's used a long time ago ... early 90's, and what the Mitsu Mirage turbo/Colt turbo used as well. If you upgrade to a larger clutch, IE FWD DSM and re-use your starter plate and starter, that will get you a 225mm clutch plate and flywheel. The flywheel stays the same, just that you use more of it. This works for Mirage/Colts, but would have to confirm 100% that it will work in a Galant.
