I just got a 12v auto Dodge Colt hatch parts car for free. The parts car is too rusted frame wise to keep and needs a head gasket. I was told to take what I want off of it and then it would be picked up for scrap. My question is. keeping in mind I have a 8v 5spd manual sedan. What would be worth taking? I'm having a hard time coming up with anything. |

Dash, engine(to rebuild for fun and have a spare), ecu, seats(if they are better), mpi relay, carpet, guage cluster, cluster surround, clock, sunvisor clips, vents, (check for power anything), replace any sun damage plastics. Check to see if the radiator is newer than yours, battery is still charged. For recycling purposes this stuff is worth money to recyclers separately: The battery. some states recycle cats, and pay astronomical amounts if they are OEM. Grab anything that's aluminum or copper (ie:radiator, a/c parts, water lines, brake lines, fuel lines, basically anything white metallic that hasn't rusted yet). You'll end up getting more back if you separate this stuff ahead of time and don't turn it in to the same recyclers. |
