According to Autozones website the clutch is the same for the 1.5 csm's and the 1.8 TEL's. I just need to replace my clutch and want to do it as cheap as possible and the local yard has a bunch of the 1.8's with the tranny's still on there. My tranny also pops out of 4th gear so if I get a 1.8 trans and swap the shifter arms with the stock 1.8 clutch it will still work right? Any help is greatly appreciated I am a noob to the 4g15 and all the parts swapping

It depends, is your car a 4 speed with a cable clutch or are you saying its a hydro 5 speed and it just pops out of 4th gear? :P

If your car has a cable tranny I would get a tranny from a 93-96 csm with the 1.5 4G15. They are still cable actuated, the shift levers are the same and the 1.5L axles will pop right in. The clutch is the same too. Plus you will be gaining the 5th (overdrive) gear.

I really hope this helps more than it confused you.

Sorry for the confusion, it is a 5 speed hyro right now. I just got it running last night and went for a spin and the tranny doesnt seem to be in good condition and the clutch slips. I just want to spend the least amount of money to make it a daily driver until I swap it. If I can get a trans that will work with the 4g15 and the 4g63 that would be way better than buying a trans for the 4g15 then buying another for the 4g63.

I would limp it around and just skip 4th gear if there are no other issues with it. If a 4G63 swap is in the near future I would pick up a turbo dsm tranny to go in as well. It requires different axles and a larger flywheel so I don't know of a way to make it work with the 4G15.

If you toss in a 1.8 dsm tranny for now I wouldn't expect it to last too long once the 4G63 goes in.

I'll just go to the yard and pull a clutch disc off a csm and throw it on for a little while until I get everything for the swap. Thanks for the fast response
