Hey guys I just got a basic 1g DSM ECU to throw in the mirage with the 450's and MAF. My problem is I can't find a thread on witch wiring harness pins I have to switch! The cars in the garage ready to go I just need to get the ECU in. I need help asap, I'm just having a total brain fart on searching it.

Thanks,

-John

6 and 14, but that's only if you're using a '91+ ECU. If you have a '90 DSM ECU just plug it in and go.

New problem, ECU is in and pins are switched but the car wont idle worth beans. ECU was out of a 92 Talon TSI. I used the pin lay out off of vfag, could the pin lay out be wrong?

My tach works fine so I tried switching pins to stalk, no luck. the wire colors I'm switching are green white and green red. I figured they're the same from a 1g DSM

I think it was a bad ECU, I put my stock turbo one back in and even with the 450's and 1g MAF she seems to run fine... I did screw up on installing my boost controller though so the only test drive I've had was at 25 pounds of boost... Gotta fix that asap

Thats what I decided after I put my head through the wall trying to figure it out. So looks like I'm going with your organial advice and taking it in to get tuned, I found a shop in my area where the owner with do awesome cheap work if I throw some of his stickers on my car.

If I remember, I dont think you can just swap pins. Theres an issue with the tach signals so I think you need to swap the coilpack and power transistor also. The connectors are different so you'll probably need to do some cutting and soldering. On my 89 Colt GT, I have a 92' ECU where I just swapped transistors. But I had to get a new tach signal from the ECU. So I ran a seprate wire from the ECU to the updated transistor. I hope that makes sense...

Yeah that makes sense, I know the pulses are different between the two tachs, like 52 and 54, I just shift when my 11b can't hold enough boost so I know I'm getting close to redline. The ECU isn't staying in for too long though, I just need to get my stock ECU ready for DSMlink since its a EPROM. If I were to run the ECU I'd just get one of these niffty things

Johnny, please don't spend your money or let any local shop tune your car. Myself or any of the locals will help you. Either we can do it for you, or teach you the best we can to help you learn more. My services are always available. I will help you street tune ir dyno tune, either is fine with me. I don't charge a thing either.

By the way, you should be shifting at 6000-6200rpm in every gear with the 11b. I had a map sensor on my 11b that told me it was running out of breath by then.

Steven, I probably will always come to you for tuning, I just wanted the play for a little while there and see what I could pull off myself. When I was running a working tach I would hold around 9 pounds of boost till about around 5,700 then it would start dropping off and around 6,000 I would be at about 6 pounds and would hold there till redline. I completely agree with you that the 11b can't supply the motor with the amount of air its taking in at the higher rpm. This is just a temporary set-up to play with until I can get the car set up properly, and once again man I greatly do appreciate your help with it.
