On the way towork travelling north on the 101 towards Scottsdale. I see a mid 90's civic ex with fart can come up throgh traffic in the next lane and pass while looking my ride up and down. He has i suppose his girlfriend sitting next to him. He pulls ahead through traffic and we play the you pass me-i pass you game through traffic for awhile. Eventually i'm ahead a few lengths in the left lane as we approach the 17 interchange and traffic clears. The Civic sees the opportunity as well and zips over behind me and punches it. We are both going about 70-ish. He is about four lengths behind me and and i downshift to fourth and punch it. At 85mph i see him slowly falling behind. At 90mph i'm pulling harder and still in fourth. At 95mph i'm coming up on traffic getting back on the 101 and hit the brakes. Of course he waits longer to brake and slides around me so i can see how fast he was really going. I get another look over. It was a fun morning. I dont know if he had any other mods other than exhaust. I'm sure he would have kept up if he didnt have his girlfriend with him as he had a slight jump on accelerating.
Dont the EX's have 1.6l sohc v-tec? Anyone know what HP they run?

stock civic ex's have about 125hp and less torque than that.
just watch out for the civic hb's with dohc vtec engines (B18C), pretty quick

I saw a black civic hatchback SI vtec not long ago. He didnt want to run in which case i probally would have been smoked!

what year civic? the 92-95 civic si's (sohc vtec, 127hp) are not that fast... even though they have a better engine, they are fully loaded with a/c, power evrything, sunroof, etc. which makes them heavier than all the other models. You would probably put up a good fight against these.

maybe it was a Vtec,but the Girl was too fat !
