so on friday i went out cruising with a bunch of people on the way home i was at red light, a 1989 Civic DX hatchback pulls up and starts reving his engine... so i rev back. The light goes green, i had a jump on him 1st and 2nd gear were mine but when i got into 3rd he was pulling on me hard and eventually go ahead. That was my first race in the colt, just thought'd share it with you guys. Oh ya, my colt is pretty much stock and his civic was also stock.

*Shakes head side to side*
You shoulda put your window down, dumped the girlfriend out the door while shifting to 3rd, and pulled yourself ahead using his side mirror for leverage. :twisted: I mean if a skateboarder could beat this car on a hill, no reason why you shouldn't be able to beat a honduh, with a little ingenuity.
:wink:

P.S. When is the service being held for the little feller?
I mean if you lost that bad to a honduh you must be about ready to give up on the little guy. *nudge nudge*

{no actual cars should ever be destroyed as a result of losing to a Honduh ... you just have to be sure that nobody gets out of the honduh after it goes over the cliff.... oohh wait I've said too much}

I don't condone the aforementioned statement and ensuing actions. :wink:

are you sure it was stock ? anyway i don't know how many hp have the civic dx but with the colt 89 you probably only have the 4g15 8v so you are @ 81 hp i got one too and i think it pull pretty hard for a 80 hp car well it's good to know i m not gona try any dx for the moment lol by the way i was calculating my 0-60 and i got around 11-12 second (w/my air can hacked and stock filter ) then a problem ocured when i was reaching 6k my temp gauge was going down and up to normal down and up to normal that's kinda bizare it was like a light that tell me when to shift but i don't think so it's seem more like an alert or something like that ???

It was probably driving ability that gave you first and second gear advantage. After that, its all about power...and the 4g15 comes up short there.

It's not even a 4G15, that would be an upgrade. It's a G15B which had 70ish horsepower new out of the box.

It's basically the same block, but the 4G15 is EFI and the G15B is carbed.
