I have two friends with 03's and one of them got a 12.9 stock, i doubt greatly an 89 4g61 with those mods would even hang with one. (no offense)

you know what they say about excuses......like A holes everybody has one

as for the "set up for drifting" thing I dont know about that
my 89' 240sx ran 12.02 the first and only time out to the track (dragstrip)
380 tire punishing WHP will have a tendencie to do that though
here in California the drift cars are pretty pissed off
Just here in Sacramento there is a bunch of 20v powered AE86 Corollas runing around with indivdual throttle bodies screaming.
that and the guys I go out and "practice" with all have at leat 300hp at the back tire.
Drifting has a built in rice filter.....its called SKILL
haha

If this Mustang Cobra is the 32V with a blower type. I ran one last year at a T&T. He said he couldn't believe my little box blew him away by about 1 sec and 10 MPH. Wasen't even close, except at the start line. This kind of thing gives me great pleasure with all the Ford Mustang hype and cost difference. Sleepers reign!!!

I believe he could beat an '03 Cobra with those mods and depending on the condition of the cars. But only from a roll, I had less mods and was able to sit door to door with a brand new Cobra (happy tags still in the rear window). But the motor wasn't quite broken in yet and he killed me from a stop.

Truth be known..traction controll will cause a major difference on an 03... we had on at our shop for the last month and have dogged on it...of course it was fun.. but still wasn't as fast as the 02 lightning... and with it off.... you have to be highly skilled not to get any wheelspin..and still is slow ...the 03 isnt as fast as an evo vIII either.. line them up we did...not as bad as the numbers say. really

ok, just to be clear, there are three different cobra's out there right now with the exact same body style. the 00 is the NA cobra that didn't put out the kind of horsepower that was advertized, so they stopped making the cobra for about a year. that is why there are very few 01 cobra's. in 02, they got the HP right on the cobra. and in 03 they started making ALL cobra's with superchargers. the cobra with a supercharger only makes 360hp, but it also makes 390lbs of torque - torque is what kills our cars off the line, because the cobras put all of that torque to the ground right away causing them to have awesome 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. from a roll they are much less potent (ok, not much, but you know what I mean). so from a roll it is easy to believe that a 13 second c50 will walk a 13 second cobra.
